I try to be as organised as I can but bed time arrives and my check list still has a few things left on it. I will be round to comment throughout the day though and have a look at what you have been up to.

See you soon,

Sharing An Oldie On Friday

Hi Crafters,

A little late in the day but I'm here now, this morning was busy with my stall at the Farmers' Market and I didn't get a chance to post this before I went, so here is my 'oldie' for this week joining in with Erika of Snappy Crafts.

This is a thank you card that I made back in 2012 for a swap partner in Canada, we had both sent each other some goodies. The word die is from Sizzix and I cut this into the panel which was then covered in red micro beads. The photo is rubbish I'm afraid as the floral paper is flocked and the black 'thank you' is shimmery glitter but it doesn't show up at all. I have a different camera now and a bit more experience although that doesn't always guarantee great results :/
This links nicely into a big 'Thank you' to Erika of Snappy Crafts as I have just received a fabulous parcel of goodies today for a swap that we did recently. She really spoilt me and I have lots of things to create with - thanks Erika!
Well that's all from me, I have another stall to man tomorrow so I had better make a few cards to restock from this mornings sales. I will visit you all tomorrow evening for a catch up.

Another Father's Day Card

Hi Crafters,

Recipe
Image - Papermania Stamp Set - Nostalgia 'Classic Cars'
Distress Inks
Heidi Swapp Large Background Chevron Stamp
White Embossing Powder
Verve Sentiment Stamp
Stampin' Up Word Window Punch

This card is similar in design to my previous Father's Day card but I swapped the image for a Porsche and heat embossed the background stamp with white embossing powder then used Distress ink over that.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Crafty Card Makers and More - #141 For a Man or a Boy
Sentimental Sunday - #264 Happy Father's Day/ Manly Cards

Have a fab evening.

Well that's it from me today, I will be round for a catch up later.

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,
Friday again! how quick are these weeks flying by?
Friday's is when I join Erika of Snappy Crafts with her fun theme of sharing an old crafty make. This time I have managed to find a photo from 2012 of a card that I had made. I didn't regularly take pictures of my creations until I started blogging but I found a few pictures the other day taken on my phone and put on an old memory stick that had been in the back of the drawer.

The lovely lady who the card was for loves owls and these were made using my Stampin' Up Owl Punch. The sentiment and numbers were cut on my Cameo.
I'm off to comment on Erika's blog and let her know that I've joined in so if you would like to share an old crafty make come and join us.

Father's Day Card

Hi Crafters,

I started making some Father's Day cards for my stall last month but they sold and I have been asked for some more so here is one that I made yesterday..

 Recipe
Image - Papermania Stamp Set - Nostalgia 'Classic Cars'
Distress Inks
Verve Sentiment Stamp
SB Fancy Tags Die
Star Brads
Embossalicious Embossing Folder - 'Gun Metal'

I had some more inky fun yesterday with this card using the 'letterpress' technique. Firstly I inked up the embossing folder with Black soot DI before I embossed the card to get the ink on to the relief part of the pattern and then used Pumice Stone DI to highlight the raised parts of the pattern. The image was stamped and heat embossed so I could ink around it with Barn Door and Aged Mahogany DI and then spritz with water without affecting the stamped image. A little more Pumice Stone on the image and around the sentiment and that was it, just a case of putting it all together.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Cardz 4 Guyz - #74 Texture
Brown Sugar - #49 ATG
Sentimental Sundays - #262 A Touch Of Vintage
Papertake Weekly - Something For The Boys
Crafty Creations - #291 Embossing
Creative Moments - #70 ATG / Masculine Creation

Thanks for joining me today, I do love to read your comments and will be round to visit you later.

Bye for now,

Lorraine

Gypsy Caravan

Hi Crafters,

A friend of mine really likes Gypsy caravans and so I created this card for her birthday...

Recipe
Tattered Lace Die Cut - Gypsy Caravan (Ebay)
Magnolia Lace Semi Circle Die made in to a circle
Magnolia Lace Border Die for edging
Trimcraft Fun Fair papers
Penny Black Sentiment and Banner Stamp
Glitter Ribbon
Cosmic Shimmer Aurora Sparkle Embossing Powder

I have been itching to use these papers since I bought them from the NEC and I thought this card was perfect for the colours and patterns on the papers. Gypsy caravans are always painted and decorated very colourfully and these papers reminded me of that. They have encapsulated glitter on them in parts and I echoed this by using the Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder around the edges of the lacy borders. My friend was really pleased with her card and therefore so was I.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Eureka Stamps - #144 Three or More Patterned Papers.
Scribble & Scrap - #46 ATG

Well that all from me,

Lorraine

Christmas Card Club Challenge #12 - Christmas Scene

Hi Crafters,
It was Kate's turn to choose a theme for our friendly challenge this time and she has given us 'Christmas Scenes'.
I had a Papermania decoupage sheet with this beautiful Christmas Night Scene and thought this would fit perfectly in to the theme.

It had three layers to complete the picture but I feel as though I have cheated as it was die-cut too so just a case of popping it out and layering it up. I'm so used to taking hours to make one card by colouring the image and picking out papers, finding a sketch or design to follow and then putting it all together that this was done in a flash. However the fact that I need to make as many Christmas cards as I can to stock my stall and give out to family and friends means that these sheets are a Godsend.
But then I felt guilty so I made another card, lol...

Not a traditional Christmas Scene but a lovely wintry scene at that.
I used a Dreamweaver Stencil to apply embossing paste on to some thick cardstock and before it dried I sprinkled black glitter over it, this created the background trees. I then layered another tree-scape die-cut on top which I think is a Taylored Expressions die (I bought ten from Ebay and I can't quite remember). The deer and single die-cut tree in the front are both Memory Box dies and they were layered up too showing the deer coming out from behind the trees. A quick dusting of glamour dust on the branches for the snow.
The banner was cut using a Spellbinder die and the sentiment is from a Papermania set. A little silver metal snowflake and organza bow to finish.
A side view shows the dimension:

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Crafty Creations - #290 All Creatures Great and Small (2nd card)
Craft Dee Bowz - ATG - include a handmade bow (2nd card)
CHNC Extra - June Challenge ATG (2nd card)

We are almost half way through the year so I hope you have made a start on your Christmas cards ladies :)
If you would like some inspiration from the group then pop over to their blogs using the list in the tab in the header.
Happy Sunday everyone!

Getting Inky

Hi Crafters,
I decided it was time to get my Distress inks out and here is one of the cards that I created. Now that my hands are multiple shades of green and brown I think I'd better invest in some plastic gloves :/

Recipe
Image - Sheena Douglas Stamp - The Majestic Oak
Birds - Inkylicious Stamp Set
Sentiment - Woodware Stamp - Kim's Coppice
Distres Inks - Black Soot, Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint, Mustard Seed.
Wood Grain Embossing Folder
EK Success Corner Punch

I started by stamping the tree and birds and heat embossing them with black EP, masking the moon with a circle of paper and then layering up my inks. I used a wood grain embossing folder for the background panel and stamped and embossed my sentiments. Then it was a simple case of matting and layering to finish.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Cardz 4 Guyz - #73 Birds (if the birds here are too small for the challenge then please delete my entry)
TTCRD - ATG
Brown Sugar - #49 ATG
Sister Act - #109 ATG
Creative Fingers - #82 ATG

Please join me again tomorrow for my Christmas Card Club make, see you then,

Lorraine

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,
It's Friday again and time to share an old crafty make and join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts.

Here are a set of cards that I made quite a while back using a very large Dovecraft Punch which makes the elements for the ice-cream, a bit of jiggery-pokery on the computer to generate the circle sentiment, Spellbinders scalloped circle and standard circle dies and a 'Happy Birthday' embossing folder.
... a larger close-up...

These took a bit of time to design but once all the elements were sorted they were very quick to put together.
If you'd like to join in with us and share an old crafty make just post your creation, pop over to Erika's blog, leave her a comment to let her know that you have joined in and she will return the comment.
Thanks for joining me today. After the glorious sunshine of yesterday I'm sitting in my craft room with the light on as it is pouring down with rain here and very dark and dismal, how different two days can be. Hope it's better where you are.

See you soon,

Lorraine

Fun In The Sun

Hi Crafters,
Well there was no 'fun in the sun' here yesterday I can tell ya! and it doesn't look like it's happening today either - unless it warms up soon.
I have made a summer photo album and hope to put some pictures in it from my holiday this year on the East Norfolk coast but if it doesn't warm up soon I will be pictured in my warm woollies instead of summer T-shirts :/
It holds standard 4" x 6" photos but I plan to collage them with an editing program to get more than that to fit in.
You may remember the tag I have used on the front, it was made for a recent DT project for 613 Avenue Create and thought it would make a fabulous addition to the front cover. Details of that can be found in this post. What do you think?

The title and crab embellishments were cut on my Silhouette Cameo and the wave is a La, La Land Die-cut.
I constructed the pages and covers from kraft card and folded them in half and glued for strength. These were then covered with digital papers from Snap, Click, Supply Co using Bo Bunny - Barefoot Bliss and Echo Park - Walking on Sunshine papers and the album was bound with my Cinch. This is probably only about the third time I have used this binding machine and I really should make more books and albums with it as it is a fabulous piece of kit. I just can't seem to find the time to make many things for myself, they are all commissions or DT work nowadays.
Each page has two die-cut corners attached diagonally to tuck your photos under and these were cut using a die from the Spellbinders Floral Doily Accent Set.
Here is a collage of the album showing all the pages and papers...

...and some larger photos showing more detail...

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Creative Moments - #69 ATG/ Inside Out
Crafty Creations - #290 All Creatures Great and Small (Crab)

Well thanks for stopping by, it's a bit of housework for me (the dreaded ironing :/ ) then I've earned a play in my room, so I will be round to comment a bit later.

Take care
