Sharing an Oldie on Friday

Hi Crafters,

Rather late in the day for me to be posting but still time to join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts where each Friday we share an 'Old Crafty Make' just for fun.
These next two cards were created quite a while ago using a 3D decoupage print-out from CraftsUprint.

Both were made just as the instructions suggested but with the added sprinkle of glitter, an organza ribbon bow with pearl brad centre and a peel-off border.
These photo's don't really show the dimension on them very well but I remember that they looked great at the time.
It's good to look back at older creations and see how your individual style has changed. Now I prefer to colour my own images and use designer papers for my cards but there is still a place for decoupage in my crafting too.
Rightio, time for me to link up with Erika on her blog before Friday is over.

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

Friday already!? How did that happen?

This week is flying by and so I am here to join in with Erika's challenge at Snappy Crafts to dig out an old crafty project and share it here.

Recipe
Image - Impression Obsession Stamp - Potting Shed
Coloured with Pro/flexmarkers
Sentiment - Lili of the Valley Stamp
Spellbinders Grand Labels Four
Speciality Papers from my stash
Computer generated sentiment paper
Peel-off Corners
Velvet Ribbon

I love this stamp, it's very detailed but gives a great impression and works beautifully for a male Retirement card I think.

This card is a couple of years old and is one of the last images on my recovered camera disc, so unless I start posting more recent projects this is the last time I will be joining in with Erika. I had so many images of cards and crafty projects that were lost when  my computer died :(

Well I hope you have a great Friday, the weekend is nearly here and I'm still beavering away in my room trying to get ahead of myself.

Take care,

Lorraine

Sharing an 'Oldie' with Erika on Friday - Memory/Keepsake Box

Hi Crafters,

Friday has come around again and time to 'Share an Oldie' with Erika from Snappy Crafts.

I've been looking through an old memory card for a camera that I had a few years back and found these dated in 2012 - the photo's are rather grainy I'm afraid but you can still see them ok.

This was commissioned by a work colleague and she had asked for a large vintage looking box for her mother using blue and white to keep old photos and memorabilia inside.

I painted the box a gorgeous rich blue and lined it with patterned papers.
I can remember at the time that I had just purchased some crackle medium and welcomed the chance to use it on a project such as this. I was really pleased at how it turned out - after having a few practise goes on a scrap of card I took the plunge and covered the whole box with it.

I then set about creating the embellishments for the lid. The frame for the Tim Holtz quote stamp was made using a Spellbinders die and covering it with UTEE, thick embossing enamel, and sprinkling a little glitter on it whilst it was still wet. The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts and were arranged and adorned with charms, jewellery findings and pearl brads for the centres.
I also covered the chipboard letters with clear UTEE after painting them blue.

I'd like to enter this challenge:
Country View Challenges - Make Your Own Background

Hope you liked my little trip down memory lane today.
If you would like to join in the fun at Erika's, pop over to her blog and leave a comment and she will visit you back.

Thank you for visiting me today I really appreciate each and every one of you and your kind comments here.
I hope you have a lovely day whatever you are up too.

Sharing an Oldie on Friday with Erika

Hi Crafters,

Hope you are just fine and dandy, it's Friday and the end of the week so I'm happy!

A quick post today to share an 'Oldie' with Erika at Snappy Crafts.

This card was made for an order 18 months ago which required shoes and handbags as the theme, I think this download from CraftsUprint fitted the bill.

Recipe
CraftUprint - Backing papers, shoes and handbag images.
Gold Peel-offs
Pearls

I sized the background and images to fit my 7 x 7 card and then printed the shoes and handbag a few times for layering.

If you'd like to join in with this fun Friday look back at old crafty projects then give Erika a look on her blog and let her know you are playing along.

Well that's all I have time for today, a busy day ahead finishing off orders for February.  I am very pleased that I have caught up with things that my computer breakdown had set me back with. Lets hope I can keep up the momentum throughout the year! Well that's my plan anyway. :)

See you soon,

Hi Crafters,

It's Friday again and time to share an old crafty make with Erika.
If you'd like to join in, just pop along to her blog and leave a comment letting her know that you have and she will visit you.

This was a commissioned card made a while ago for a pet lover. The brief was to have a cat and a dog and the recipients name the rest was up to me - I think I covered all that.

A short post from me today, I have a few errands to run and a crafty afternoon making cards for DT commitments and my stall next week.

Happy Crafting and Happy Friday!
The weekend is nearly upon us.

Joining in with Erika - Sharing an Oldie

Hi Crafters,

Hope you are keeping warm today!
We had a bit of sleet and snow yesterday and today started off very icy and cold, so I'm in my craft room, keeping warm.

Today I am joining in with Erika and her fun look back at what crafty makes you have made.
Now you all know that my computer curled up and keeled over the other week and so I only have a few odd images of older cards left on a memory card for my camera so this is it....

It was a notelet sent in a parcel of goodies and my first attempt at a totally inked background and stamped card. I love the colours on this and now that I have reminded myself of it I think I will make some more.
The stamps are a mixture of Sheena Douglas and some magazine freebies stamped with Versafine Onyx Black & Brown over a distress ink background.

If you'd like to join in with us leave Erika a comment on her blog telling her you have participated and she will come visit you.

Well that's it from me for today,
I will be back over the weekend to share another baby card.

Share an Oldie on Friday

Hi Crafters,

I'm popping in this morning with a quick post to share an old crafty make with Erika from Snappy Crafts.
Each Friday she encourages us to resurrect one of our older crafty projects. It's fun to look back and see how your style has changed and evolved over time.

Here is my 'Oldie'...

This was a commissioned card for a lady who loved shoes and bling and I thought the leopard print went well with it. The papers and image were digital and for the life of me I can't remember where from. I decoupaged the shoe to add a little dimension.

If you'd like to join in the fun, pop over to Erika's blog, (link above) and share away!

Well that's all from me, I have a craft fair tomorrow which I'm hoping I will be well enough to attend, hubby kindly shared his germs with me and I've been coughing and spluttering all week so we'll wait and see.

Take care,

Lorraine

Friday Oldie - Not a Card This Time

Hi Crafters,

It's Friday again and time to share and 'old' crafty make with Erika.
Usually I share a card but today I have found, in the archives, a photo of one of several Bag Charms that I made probably about 4 years ago!

I love this black and lime green combination and the dinky little charms, especially the birdhouse one. I used to make quite a lot of these but haven't made any jewellery now for quite some time. I still have all the tools and supplies so the option is still there and it's handy for those moments when your daughter comes in with a broken chain on her bracelet and I was able to fix it.

He, he.

There has been a lot of interest in my announcement recently about an exciting offer. Out of the blue I was offered some space in a shop to display and sell my cards and small gifts which I make for my Market Stall so I will need to start creating some extra stock over the next few months to have enough for the shop and my stall. That is what I meant when I said it would keep me busy for a while. The shop is in a small village but still has plenty of customers so I am hoping that all goes well.

Blogland is buzzing at the moment and I hope I have managed to visit you all and caught up with commenting. Thanks for visiting today and if you want to join in with Erika and share an 'oldie' project then call in at her blog and say Hi.

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

How did it get to be Friday, again?!
These weeks are definitely racing by, it's getting scary how quickly time is passing, do you all feel it? or is it just me.
Anyhow, as it's Friday it's also time to share an old crafty make from the past with Erika at Snappy Crafts. This is where we post a picture of a crafty project, just for fun, made a while ago. Now I only started taking regular photo's of my cards and projects when I started my blog a couple of years ago so the pictures of anything older are getting few and far between now but here is a cricketing card that I made some time back.

Recipe
Stripy Cardstock - Limetree Crafts
Cricket Topper - Papermania (I think)
Word Dies - Britannia Dies
Peel-offs and Gems

It's fun to look back and see how your crafting has evolved and changed over the years, why not give it go and visit Erika on her blog and let her know that you've joined in.

Sharing An Oldie On Friday

Hi Crafters,

A little late in the day but I'm here now, this morning was busy with my stall at the Farmers' Market and I didn't get a chance to post this before I went, so here is my 'oldie' for this week joining in with Erika of Snappy Crafts.

This is a thank you card that I made back in 2012 for a swap partner in Canada, we had both sent each other some goodies. The word die is from Sizzix and I cut this into the panel which was then covered in red micro beads. The photo is rubbish I'm afraid as the floral paper is flocked and the black 'thank you' is shimmery glitter but it doesn't show up at all. I have a different camera now and a bit more experience although that doesn't always guarantee great results :/
This links nicely into a big 'Thank you' to Erika of Snappy Crafts as I have just received a fabulous parcel of goodies today for a swap that we did recently. She really spoilt me and I have lots of things to create with - thanks Erika!
Well that's all from me, I have another stall to man tomorrow so I had better make a few cards to restock from this mornings sales. I will visit you all tomorrow evening for a catch up.

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

I'm back, a little later than I had anticipated - where does the time go lately?
Anyhow, here is my 'Oldie' crafty make to join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts with her fun weekly challenge.

Cream Pearlescent ridged cardsrock
Spellbinders Filigree Cross and Fancy Tags Dies
Hobbycraft Flourish stamp set and Sentiment Stamp

Sympathy cards are not pleasant to have to make but unfortunately necessary. I always have a few of these made to keep by me for just such an occasion. I try and keep them as flat as possible for posting too.
If you would like to join in with us and share an old crafty make once a week just leave Erika a comment on her blog letting her know that you have joined in and she will know to come visit you.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my previous post today, I love to read them and they are always appreciated.
Hope the weekend holds some good weather for everyone and that you all enjoy yourselves.
I'm back here on Sunday with my Christmas Card Club challenge card, see you then.
