Stampendous - Fresh Bloom

Hi Crafters,
Hope the sun is shining on you today and if not I hope these cards will bring a little sunshine in to your craft room, lol.

In real life the yellow is a little more subtle than this picture shows, it is Crafters Companion Centura Pearl cardstock in lemon and not 'full on in your face' sunburst yellow but this is how it came out I'm afraid and no amount of tweaking would correct it without upsetting the rest of the colours :/
The backing paper was created using distress inks and water on my craft mat, Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Shaded Lilac. I used the paper to stamp my flowers on and then embossed with white embossing powder. The stamp is a Stampendous grey rubber stamp called 'Fresh Bloom', I have had it for ages and not used it, heaven knows why coz it's a beautiful, large stamp which can be used in so many ways. The borders are made with a couple of Martha Stewart punches, the sentiment comes from Inkylicious and the pearls are from Meiflower.
While I had the stamp out and some of the backing paper left I made another card only this time I used an Anniversary sentiment.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes #233
Sister Act - Anything Goes

I will be round later for some commenting on your blogs so TTFN.

Baby Carriage

Hi Crafters,
Here is the other baby card I promised to share with you, a day late but then what is a day amongst friends?

As you can see I used the lovely Marianne Designs Baby Carriage die and some Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle dies. The gingham ribbon and bows are from Mei Flower.
I'd like to enter the following challenges:
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Divas By Design - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Embossing (wet or dry)
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes #95
Sister Act - Anything Goes #58
Creative Fingers - Anything Goes #37

Well I'd like to wish you all a dry and sunny Spring Bank Holiday week if you are in the UK but it has been torrential rain here today, I hope it hasn't settled in for the whole week.
Bye for now,

Lorraine

P.S. Sorry about the different coloured text in this post, I have no clue what is happening, every time I try to make it all the same colour it reverts back to this, so I've given up I'm afraid :/

Baby Suit

Hi Crafters,
Hope you are enjoying the Holiday Weekend and getting plenty of crafting done.
We have had another new arrival in our family and I'd like to share with you one of the cards that I made. I got the idea from that wonderful place - Pinterest. I drew my own template after seeing these three cards on Susanne Hansen's blog.

I cut the shape from plain cardstock and used the 'Up, Up and Away' papers by First Edition to make the top layer. Then I stamped the sentiments with a Clearly Besotted stamp set 'Baby Love' on to the banner and punched out the oval plaque with Stampin 'Up punches. The buttons and enamel dots are from my stash and the faux stitching was drawn using a green glaze pen by Sakura. I think it turned out really cute.
Challenges I'd like to enter:
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes #19
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Sister Act - Anything Goes #58
Creative Fingers - Anything Goes #37
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes #95
Diva's By Design - Anything Goes

Bye for now but will be back tomorrow to show the other baby card I made for my Mum to give to the new parents.

Stamping Bella ~ Audrey Loves Her Make-Up

Hi Crafters,
I've just received my first Stamping Bella Stamp ~ Uptown Girl Audrey~ and couldn't wait to make a card with her. I had a 50th Birthday card on order so I thought she would be just perfect for this.

I stamped her a couple of times and coloured her with my Promarkers to match the papers. I cut out her dress bag and hat to layer on top of the base image to give it dimension. I used some die-cuts and ribbon, flowers from WOC and the buckle bling is from Mei-flower, I think.
I'd like to enter this in to the challenge at:
Passion For Promarkers - Use Your Die-cuts.

Thanks for visiting today and thank you for all your lovely comments over the past few days I greatly appreciate them and read them all.
Well that's it from me,

See you soon,

Christmas Card Club Challenge # 11

Hi Crafters,
Well those two weeks went quickly again, I seem to be on catch up all the time lately so this card was hastily created yesterday I'm afraid. I know the date is coming up and then...boom...it's here and I'm not prepared. Anyway challenge #11 was set by Zoe and her theme was to use - ' A button, 3 brads, ribbon and one other accessory'.  For some reason I found this quite challenging, but hey, that's the point I hear you all saying, so here's my card...

Card recipe
Little Holly Berry stamp - Winter Faerie Poppets-Crafters Companion
Promarkers
Papers -Magazine Freebies
Wooden Button
Organza Ribbon
3 Brads
A Bell
Kraft cardstock
Diamond Stickles for wings
Linen Thread Stitching - Stampin 'Up

I went with a vintage Christmas theme this time and thought this sweet little Holly Faerie worked well. I also tried a new thing for me...stitching. I don't own a sewing machine so I thought I would dip my toe in the water with a few hand sewn stitches around the image, I think it turned out ok, I'm quite pleased. All the papers and cardstock were edged in Vintage Photo Distress Ink and the little bell I have had in my stash for ages.
I'd like to enter this in to the following challenges:

Completely Christmas - Challenge #12 Mid Month Sketch
Winter Wonderland - Holly and /or Ivy
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes #18
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Passion For Promarkers - No Sentiment
One Crazy Stamper - Anything Goes + An Embellishment (Bell)
Penny Black and More - Anything Goes

Don't forget to check out the other ladies blogs in the challenge too, links in the tab at the top of my blog, for some amazing inspiration for your Christmas cards. It is only 220 days to Christmas you know, he, he.
Enjoy your Sunday and I will be round later for some commenting.

Flat for posting

Hi Crafters,
I have a lot of customers who ask for a card that is flat enough to send through the post. That means less than 5mm thick which by the time you take in to account the folded card blank and the envelope there isn't much scope for embellishments. Yesterday I blogged a flat card with a pattered paper background so today I thought I would make my own background pattern.
I started with a white piece of card and inked it with Distress Inks in Dried Marigold, Tumbled Glass and Rusty Hinge in a random blotch pattern. Then I inked my 'Secret Garden' background stamp from Justrite with Versamark clear ink and stamped over the card. I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the card and heat embossed it which trapped the colours of ink under it leaving certain parts of the pattern uncovered to be inked again with deeper colours. I then used Fired Brick where the flowers were exposed and Peeled Paint for the leafy areas.  Now I had a colourful, glazed background for my Tonic sentiment to be put on to which is still flat enough for the post.

I matted this on to some very thin cardstock.
Here is a close up shot where you can hopefully see the glazing.

Maybe I should have given it another coat of clear embossing to fill in the pitted parts but I liked the texture so I left it at that.
Hope you liked my little project today?
See you soon,

Lorraine

Simply Sentimental

Hi Crafters,
A very quick post today to enter this card in to the challenge at In The Pink . Their challenge this time is to use a sentiment as your focal point with no image.... and of course the colour PINK.

I used my Tonic Everyday Sentiments die, Spellbinders Fancy Oval die and a Cheery Lynn corner die on this one. Plus there's the bonus of it being flat to post.

Thanks for visiting and commenting, I do love to read them and I try to visit your blogs in return.

See you soon,
Lorraine

My Take On Legend Of Zelda

Hi Crafters,
It's been very bright and Summery here today and I've got quite a lot of housework done, I always feel better when the sun is shining don't you? I also managed to finish my card for a relatives Birthday who likes playing the game Legend Of Zelda. I know nothing about this game or it's characters but I managed to find some pictures on the web and made a very 3D decoupaged card for him. I hope he likes it.

There are at least six layers of decoupage on this card, in real life it does look like he is coming out of the card towards you. Unfortunately it didn't matter how I took the photo I just couldn't quite show it. Here's another view...

Maybe you can just about see it here? I did lots of fussy cutting for this one and as you can see he is going to be Eighteen.
One last view...

Well that just about wraps it up for me tonight, I wish you all well,

See you soon for a catch up on your blogs,

Lorraine

Lilli Faye

Hi Crafters, hope you are all well and enjoying a little bit of sunshine in between the showers. What a mixed bag of weather we seem to be getting lately.
Well my card today was inspired by all the blog posts I've been seeing where you try to use items from your stash that have been forgotten about or never used at all. This digi stamp from Make It Crafty called Lilli Faye has been hiding away in one of my computer folders for a long time now so I thought it was about time that I coloured her up.

Card Recipe
Centre Step Card
Lilli Faye Digi Image - Make It Crafty
Promarkers
Papers - Fairy Flora by Prima
Oval Die Cut - Cheery Lynn Swedish Spring Oval Frame
Magnolia Swirl Die
Grass - Cheery Lynn Grass Border Die
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
LOTS of Glitter
I decided to make a stepper card this time, I was in a rut using square cards all the time so this adds a bit of interest with the shape. I edged the papers with glitter and her wings although it doesn't show up very well in the picture but in real life she is very sparkly.

Father's Day

Hi Crafters,
As promised here is my latest Father's Day card using the wonderful 'Map' stamp by Impression Obsession.

The techniques used are the same as my card in yesterdays post but the sentiment stamp is from Verve Stamps.
