Oldie For Friday

Hi Crafters,

I've finally managed the time to find an image of an older card which means I can join in with Erika and her 'oldie' challenge for Friday.
Anyone can link up an older creation just for fun. It is great to look back and see how our creativity has changed over the years.

Recipe
Stamp - Magenta Christmas Silhouette
Distress Ink used as water-colour wash
Black Embossing Powder

This is a great stamp set for quick cards, I have had it for years, each one can be used on their own or joined together to create this square panel.

It has been a sunny but cold day here today which was quite pleasant after the rain of late but I think it's set to change over night - oh well, can't win them all.

See you soon,

Lorraine

Distress Inks
Foliage Stamp -  Sheen Douglas
Sentiment - LOTV
Glitter

Well that's it from me today, more crafty makes tomorrow and Sunday, please join me if you can.

Share and 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

I've been relying on scheduled posts this week so I apologise for my lack of commenting recently but hopefully next week will be a little less hectic and I can visit you all.

Today I am here to share an 'old' crafty make and join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts.

This was made some time ago when Papermania brought out their 'Strictly Party' Glitter Toppers
and this is one image from the sheet. The dies are Spellbinders floral oval and a banner die for the sentiment. I can't remember where the spotty paper came from.
If you'd like to join in at Erika's just post an old crafty make, it doesn't have to be a card, but something you have created yourself, visit her blog and link up your project.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Mine's a Pint!

Hi Crafters,

What a dreary morning it is today and set to stay that way too I think well in to the weekend. What has happened to our seasons? - there doesn't seem to be a defined Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter any more like I remember as a young girl, instead we have an erratic swing from warm to cold and sunny to rainy days all in one week. Just as I put my winter woollies away, I need them again.
Well that's enough talk about the weather - we could be here all day!

On to my card which is the reason for my title today, not that I drink pints mind you, can't stand the taste of beer at all, but this is my 'OLDIE' share for Erika's challenge at Snappy Crafts. I haven't joined in for a while so I found this older card in my file and here we are....

Recipe
Image - Personal Impressions Stamp -  Mens 1
Coloured with my Pro/flexmarkers
Embossilicious Folder
Tonic 'Happy Birthday' Die
EK Success Punched Corners
Tattered Lace Frame Die
Ribbon from stash

If you would like to join in with us at Erika's, it's just for fun, post an old card or crafty project and link up over on her blog.

That's all from me today, but I have DT posts over the weekend so I will see you then.

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

Friday already!? How did that happen?

This week is flying by and so I am here to join in with Erika's challenge at Snappy Crafts to dig out an old crafty project and share it here.

Recipe
Image - Impression Obsession Stamp - Potting Shed
Coloured with Pro/flexmarkers
Sentiment - Lili of the Valley Stamp
Spellbinders Grand Labels Four
Speciality Papers from my stash
Computer generated sentiment paper
Peel-off Corners
Velvet Ribbon

I love this stamp, it's very detailed but gives a great impression and works beautifully for a male Retirement card I think.

This card is a couple of years old and is one of the last images on my recovered camera disc, so unless I start posting more recent projects this is the last time I will be joining in with Erika. I had so many images of cards and crafty projects that were lost when  my computer died :(

Well I hope you have a great Friday, the weekend is nearly here and I'm still beavering away in my room trying to get ahead of myself.

Take care,

Lorraine

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

I'm here at last.... phew! it's been a busy day.
Had a great time at the Farmers Market this morning, it's good when all your hard work pays off.

So on to my 'Oldie for Friday' - a bit late in the day but here none-the-less.
This is the fun weekly post where some of us join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts and show an old, crafty project on our blogs.

This card was made a while ago using a stamp set from Habico which had different breeds of dogs and cats on it. This was created for a dog lover as you can tell.
The word stamp is from Woodware and a lovely large one it is too, I embossed this with white EP, the dogs are stamped in brown and embossed using clear EP. The brief was for it to be flat for posting so no embellishments I'm afraid.

Hope you have all had a good day too,

Take care and see you soon,

Lorraine

Sharing an Oldie on Friday with Erika

Hi Crafters,

Hope you are just fine and dandy, it's Friday and the end of the week so I'm happy!

A quick post today to share an 'Oldie' with Erika at Snappy Crafts.

This card was made for an order 18 months ago which required shoes and handbags as the theme, I think this download from CraftsUprint fitted the bill.

Recipe
CraftUprint - Backing papers, shoes and handbag images.
Gold Peel-offs
Pearls

I sized the background and images to fit my 7 x 7 card and then printed the shoes and handbag a few times for layering.

If you'd like to join in with this fun Friday look back at old crafty projects then give Erika a look on her blog and let her know you are playing along.

Well that's all I have time for today, a busy day ahead finishing off orders for February.  I am very pleased that I have caught up with things that my computer breakdown had set me back with. Lets hope I can keep up the momentum throughout the year! Well that's my plan anyway. :)

See you soon,

Sharing an 'Oldie on Friday'

Hi Crafters,

I'm back today to share one of my old crafty makes and join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts. A few of us share an old crafty project from the past and leave a message for Erika on her blog to let her know that we have joined in.
This week I have a card that was created using my Silhouette Cameo

I experimented a lot when I first had my Cameo and made lots of things but recently I haven't had the time to play but this card was the first time I had cut out some intricate text.
I believe the star background cut file came from 'Birds Cards' and I typed the words in a fancy font and cut them out using my machine.

If you would like to join in with us each week then give Erika a visit and let her know.

A quick post from me today as it's Hubby's Birthday so there's a special meal to get ready for later and then cake!

See you soon,

Lorraine

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

It's been a busy week here and now it is Friday already! Time to join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts and share an old crafty project just for fun.

Today I have a decoupaged card using an image from CraftsUprint..

..love this fun image and sentiment.
There were several layers if I remember correctly and by the time I had cut them all out I was seeing double. It made for a very dimensional card so when I added the flat-backed toadstools at the bottom they didn't look out of place.

If you would like to join in with us and share a crafty make from the past then post your creation on your blog, give Erika a visit and let her know you have taken part.

I will be back tomorrow with my Christmas Card Club card...

..see you then

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

I haven't joined in with Erika at Snappy Crafts for a few weeks now so thought I had better find an old craft project to share today and join in the fun.

This was a sweet little Christmas Gift Box that I made a few years ago when I first owned my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine. It was to gift wrap some earrings and looked so cute being only 10 cm x 7 cm. The organza bow is the closure and passes through the layers of the flap securing it tightly shut.

It has been a lovely, bright day here but quite chilly and I'm sure the heating will have to on this evening, {groan} winter is on it's way, but we are forecast a few more brighter days this weekend so I will make the most of it.
Hope everyone is ok and I'll see you again soon.

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

Well it's that time again where I join in with Erika and share an old crafty project just for fun.
This one dates back to the beginning of 2012 when I followed a video tutorial by Claire Charville on how to create one of her beautiful albums. This one used Graphic 45's Tropical Travelogue papers and chipboard embellishments.
Now I'm going to warn you it is a very photo heavy post as I had to photo every page with and without the tags and added folders for you to be able to see the pockets and pieces that tuck in the pages, so here we go.....

The front cover...it's a biggie, it measures 19 x 26 x 8 cm

each of those leaves were cut individually from the papers and wired on to stems.
I made my own door plate from cardstock and painted it to give a metal effect as I didn't have a G45 one.

(1) the first page with tags...

(1) tags and photo mats taken out.
~~~~~~~~~
(2) second page
(2) photo mats and tags removed
(2) magnetic lift up flap with photo mat and tag
~~~~~~~

(3) third page

(3) photo mats and tags removed
~~~~~~~
(4) fourth page
(4) photo mats, tag and passport booklet removed
~~~~~~~

(5) fifth page

(5) photo mat, notebook and tag removed
~~~~~~~
(6) sixth page
(6) envelope pockets with tags removed
~~~~~~~

(7) seventh page

(7) magnetic flap, photo mats and tags
~~~~~~~
(8) eighth page
(8) envelope pocket with booklet and tags
~~~~~~~

(9) ninth page

(9) folder and photo mats
~~~~~~~
(10) tenth page
(10) another magnetic flap with photo mats and tags
~~~~~~~

This was a fantastic project to make albeit a time consuming one and I learnt lots of techniques whilst making this first album. I haven't had a chance to make another in the last three years but I would like to make one again. I really enjoyed creating all the hidden pockets and flaps which make it interesting to the viewer as they discover something new on every page.
Well I hope you liked my 'oldie' make for today, if you would like to join in with this fun event on a Friday just give Erika a nod on her blog and join in!

See you soon,

Lorraine

Sharing an Oldie on Friday

Hi Crafters,

Friday has come round again and it is time to join in with Erika from Snappy Crafts and share an 'oldie' crafty project just for fun.

I'm sticking with the wedding theme from earlier in the week and sharing this card that I made a couple of years ago. Sorry for the blurred photo.

Recipe
Memory Box Magnificent Cake Die
Spellbinders Grand Large Label Dies
Glittered Swirl Card
Hobby Craft Sentiment Stamp
Gold Embossing Powder
Braided Trim and Pearl String from Stash
Metal Corner Embellishment for Cake Topper

Thanks for joining me today, I hope you are all well, the temperature is a little cooler today which I prefer so I need to catch up with some housework that didn't get done in the heat. Firstly though, I'm off to visit Erika's blog and let her know that I have joined in today and if you would like to play along with us then I look forward to seeing your creations too.

Bye for now,

Sharing An Oldie On Friday

Hi Crafters,

A little late in the day but I'm here now, this morning was busy with my stall at the Farmers' Market and I didn't get a chance to post this before I went, so here is my 'oldie' for this week joining in with Erika of Snappy Crafts.

This is a thank you card that I made back in 2012 for a swap partner in Canada, we had both sent each other some goodies. The word die is from Sizzix and I cut this into the panel which was then covered in red micro beads. The photo is rubbish I'm afraid as the floral paper is flocked and the black 'thank you' is shimmery glitter but it doesn't show up at all. I have a different camera now and a bit more experience although that doesn't always guarantee great results :/
This links nicely into a big 'Thank you' to Erika of Snappy Crafts as I have just received a fabulous parcel of goodies today for a swap that we did recently. She really spoilt me and I have lots of things to create with - thanks Erika!
Well that's all from me, I have another stall to man tomorrow so I had better make a few cards to restock from this mornings sales. I will visit you all tomorrow evening for a catch up.

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,
Friday again! how quick are these weeks flying by?
Friday's is when I join Erika of Snappy Crafts with her fun theme of sharing an old crafty make. This time I have managed to find a photo from 2012 of a card that I had made. I didn't regularly take pictures of my creations until I started blogging but I found a few pictures the other day taken on my phone and put on an old memory stick that had been in the back of the drawer.

The lovely lady who the card was for loves owls and these were made using my Stampin' Up Owl Punch. The sentiment and numbers were cut on my Cameo.
I'm off to comment on Erika's blog and let her know that I've joined in so if you would like to share an old crafty make come and join us.

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,
It's Friday again and time to share an old crafty make and join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts.

Here are a set of cards that I made quite a while back using a very large Dovecraft Punch which makes the elements for the ice-cream, a bit of jiggery-pokery on the computer to generate the circle sentiment, Spellbinders scalloped circle and standard circle dies and a 'Happy Birthday' embossing folder.
... a larger close-up...

These took a bit of time to design but once all the elements were sorted they were very quick to put together.
If you'd like to join in with us and share an old crafty make just post your creation, pop over to Erika's blog, leave her a comment to let her know that you have joined in and she will return the comment.
Thanks for joining me today. After the glorious sunshine of yesterday I'm sitting in my craft room with the light on as it is pouring down with rain here and very dark and dismal, how different two days can be. Hope it's better where you are.

See you soon,

Lorraine

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

I'm back, a little later than I had anticipated - where does the time go lately?
Anyhow, here is my 'Oldie' crafty make to join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts with her fun weekly challenge.

Cream Pearlescent ridged cardsrock
Spellbinders Filigree Cross and Fancy Tags Dies
Hobbycraft Flourish stamp set and Sentiment Stamp

Sympathy cards are not pleasant to have to make but unfortunately necessary. I always have a few of these made to keep by me for just such an occasion. I try and keep them as flat as possible for posting too.
If you would like to join in with us and share an old crafty make once a week just leave Erika a comment on her blog letting her know that you have joined in and she will know to come visit you.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my previous post today, I love to read them and they are always appreciated.
Hope the weekend holds some good weather for everyone and that you all enjoy yourselves.
I'm back here on Sunday with my Christmas Card Club challenge card, see you then.

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,
It's Friday once again and I am joining in with Erika of Snappy Crafts with her fun 'sharing an old crafty project'.

This is a real 'oldie', one that I made for a customer who wanted specific requirements on the card for her sister. I managed to find a picture of a garden scene and used my Joanna Sheen wheel barrow and flower pots dies. The image was printed several times and elements were cut out and layered for dimension. I then punched out my flowers and shaped them, tucking them in behind the raised wheel barrow and pots.
If you would like to join in with Erika's fun theme just post your oldie on your blog, give Erika a visit and comment on her post and she will come and visit you.

Thanks for dropping by today,
See you soon,

Lorraine

Sharing an Oldie on Friday

Hi Crafters,
I'm late to share my 'Oldie for Friday' today, it's been a busy one - craft fair this morning and taking my mum for an X-ray this afternoon but as Friday isn't over yet I think it still counts.
I'm joining in the fun with Erika over at Snappy Crafts so here is my oldie ...

Recipe
Silhouette Cameo Cut Files - Golf Caddy and Golf Photo Frame

This was an order for a.. wait for it....golf lover for Father's Day last year.
It seems so long ago now that I made this and yet it is less than a year ! I have made so many cards in the past 18 months though, I guess that's the reason. If you want to join in with us and share one of your old crafty projects then give Erika a look on her blog.
Hope you all enjoy your weekend.

See you soon,

Lorraine
