Sharing an Oldie on Friday

Hi Crafters,

Rather late in the day for me to be posting but still time to join in with Erika at Snappy Crafts where each Friday we share an 'Old Crafty Make' just for fun.
These next two cards were created quite a while ago using a 3D decoupage print-out from CraftsUprint.

Both were made just as the instructions suggested but with the added sprinkle of glitter, an organza ribbon bow with pearl brad centre and a peel-off border.
These photo's don't really show the dimension on them very well but I remember that they looked great at the time.
It's good to look back at older creations and see how your individual style has changed. Now I prefer to colour my own images and use designer papers for my cards but there is still a place for decoupage in my crafting too.
Rightio, time for me to link up with Erika on her blog before Friday is over.

Another 'Oldie'

Hi Crafters,

It's that time of the week again where I join Erika at Snappy Crafts and share an old crafty project just for fun.
 You can join in too by posting anything crafty you have made in the past and leaving a comment on her blog so she can visit you back.

Here's my 'oldie' for today. It was created using an image and papers from an MCS CD-Rom.

The quality of the picture is a little blurred but you can see the design well enough. I glittered the edges of the layers after mounting them on to bronze pearlescent card stock to match the colours in the image. The rose trim had been in my stash for ages and so I added some pearls to each rose to mimic the string of pearls in the image too.

Well hope you enjoyed my card today, pop over to Erika's blog and take a peek at her post, it is always a great read.

I will be round to comment later, that's if blogger will allow. I have been suffering from gremlins, as have many of you when it comes to commenting lately. Out of the twenty blogs I visited this morning only two would allow me to post a comment, so we will see how that pans out this afternoon.

Hope you enjoy your Friday and have a fabulous weekend.

Sharing an 'Oldie' with Erika on Friday - Memory/Keepsake Box

Hi Crafters,

Friday has come around again and time to 'Share an Oldie' with Erika from Snappy Crafts.

I've been looking through an old memory card for a camera that I had a few years back and found these dated in 2012 - the photo's are rather grainy I'm afraid but you can still see them ok.

 This was commissioned by a work colleague and she had asked for a large vintage looking box for her mother using blue and white to keep old photos and memorabilia inside.

I painted the box a gorgeous rich blue and lined it with patterned papers.
I can remember at the time that I had just purchased some crackle medium and welcomed the chance to use it on a project such as this. I was really pleased at how it turned out - after having a few practise goes on a scrap of card I took the plunge and covered the whole box with it.

I then set about creating the embellishments for the lid. The frame for the Tim Holtz quote stamp was made using a Spellbinders die and covering it with UTEE, thick embossing enamel, and sprinkling a little glitter on it whilst it was still wet. The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts and were arranged and adorned with charms, jewellery findings and pearl brads for the centres.
I also covered the chipboard letters with clear UTEE after painting them blue.

I'd like to enter this challenge:
Country View Challenges - Make Your Own Background

Hope you liked my little trip down memory lane today.
If you would like to join in the fun at Erika's, pop over to her blog and leave a comment and she will visit you back.

Thank you for visiting me today I really appreciate each and every one of you and your kind comments here.
I hope you have a lovely day whatever you are up too.

Sharing an Oldie on Friday

Hi Crafters,

It's Friday again and time to share an old crafty make with Erika.
If you'd like to join in, just pop along to her blog and leave a comment letting her know that you have and she will visit you.

This was a commissioned card made a while ago for a pet lover. The brief was to have a cat and a dog and the recipients name the rest was up to me - I think I covered all that.

A short post from me today, I have a few errands to run and a crafty afternoon making cards for DT commitments and my stall next week.

Happy Crafting and Happy Friday!
The weekend is nearly upon us.

Joining in with Erika - Sharing an Oldie

Hi Crafters,

Hope you are keeping warm today!
We had a bit of sleet and snow yesterday and today started off very icy and cold, so I'm in my craft room, keeping warm.

Today I am joining in with Erika and her fun look back at what crafty makes you have made.
Now you all know that my computer curled up and keeled over the other week and so I only have a few odd images of older cards left on a memory card for my camera so this is it....

It was a notelet sent in a parcel of goodies and my first attempt at a totally inked background and stamped card. I love the colours on this and now that I have reminded myself of it I think I will make some more.
The stamps are a mixture of Sheena Douglas and some magazine freebies stamped with Versafine Onyx Black & Brown over a distress ink background.

If you'd like to join in with us leave Erika a comment on her blog telling her you have participated and she will come visit you.

Well that's it from me for today,
I will be back over the weekend to share another baby card.

Recipe
Image and Papers - The Hobby House Card Kit
Spellbinders Scallop Oval Die

This one was made a couple of years ago I think - I love using these toppers for fun and quick cards and using a kit makes the creation process even quicker.

A short and sweet post from me today, I still have a few Christmas orders to complete (yes, running a bit late I know but that's how life seems to be at the moment)

So take care and I'll be back tomorrow with my Christmas Card Club card.

See you then,

Share an Oldie on Friday

Hi Crafters,

I'm popping in this morning with a quick post to share an old crafty make with Erika from Snappy Crafts.
Each Friday she encourages us to resurrect one of our older crafty projects. It's fun to look back and see how your style has changed and evolved over time.

Here is my 'Oldie'...

This was a commissioned card for a lady who loved shoes and bling and I thought the leopard print went well with it. The papers and image were digital and for the life of me I can't remember where from. I decoupaged the shoe to add a little dimension.

If you'd like to join in the fun, pop over to Erika's blog, (link above) and share away!

Well that's all from me, I have a craft fair tomorrow which I'm hoping I will be well enough to attend, hubby kindly shared his germs with me and I've been coughing and spluttering all week so we'll wait and see.

Take care,

Lorraine

Share An Oldie On Friday

Hi Crafters,

I'm joining in with Erika again this Friday from Snappy Crafts and sharing an 'Oldie' today.
I believe I posted these on Facebook but not here on my blog. They are a set of activity birthday cards for younger children.

I think these are great as little ones love to colour so after their birthday once they have had the card on display they can then colour the picture with the crayons provided.

My other activity cards are for the little gardeners - an apron shaped card and packets of easy to grow seeds.

Well that's it from me today, hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Friday Oldie - Not a Card This Time

Hi Crafters,

It's Friday again and time to share and 'old' crafty make with Erika.
Usually I share a card but today I have found, in the archives, a photo of one of several Bag Charms that I made probably about 4 years ago!

I love this black and lime green combination and the dinky little charms, especially the birdhouse one. I used to make quite a lot of these but haven't made any jewellery now for quite some time. I still have all the tools and supplies so the option is still there and it's handy for those moments when your daughter comes in with a broken chain on her bracelet and I was able to fix it.

He, he.

There has been a lot of interest in my announcement recently about an exciting offer. Out of the blue I was offered some space in a shop to display and sell my cards and small gifts which I make for my Market Stall so I will need to start creating some extra stock over the next few months to have enough for the shop and my stall. That is what I meant when I said it would keep me busy for a while. The shop is in a small village but still has plenty of customers so I am hoping that all goes well.

Blogland is buzzing at the moment and I hope I have managed to visit you all and caught up with commenting. Thanks for visiting today and if you want to join in with Erika and share an 'oldie' project then call in at her blog and say Hi.

Sharing An Oldie On Friday

Hi Crafters,

It's Friday again and time to 'Share an Oldie' with Erika at Snappy Crafts just for fun. You can join in with us and share one of your crafty projects that you have made in the past and leave Erika a comment to let her know that you have.

This is a wooden birdhouse that I decorated a while ago...2012 I think. The papers were from a Glitz 6 x 6 paper pad and I die-cut the roof tiles using a Spellbinders Moroccan Accents die. I used some leaf ribbon, mini roses and braid to trim the edges. The larger flowers on the front have been dipped in a watered down pva glue mixture and sprinkled with glitter - they look fabulous in real life and I used a metal flower to accent one of them. The bird is a Prickly Pear die.

A quick post from me again today I'm afraid - I'm looking forward to the weekend.
Hope you have a fabulous crafty day!

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

How did it get to be Friday, again?!
These weeks are definitely racing by, it's getting scary how quickly time is passing, do you all feel it? or is it just me.
Anyhow, as it's Friday it's also time to share an old crafty make from the past with Erika at Snappy Crafts. This is where we post a picture of a crafty project, just for fun, made a while ago. Now I only started taking regular photo's of my cards and projects when I started my blog a couple of years ago so the pictures of anything older are getting few and far between now but here is a cricketing card that I made some time back.

Recipe
Stripy Cardstock - Limetree Crafts
Cricket Topper - Papermania (I think)
Word Dies - Britannia Dies
Peel-offs and Gems

It's fun to look back and see how your crafting has evolved and changed over the years, why not give it go and visit Erika on her blog and let her know that you've joined in.

Sharing an 'Oldie on Friday'

Hi Crafters,

Friday again!
Time to join Erika with sharing an old crafty make from the past.

This card was made in 2012 using 'A Touch of Magic' CD Rom by Linda Ravenscroft.

The images on this CD are beautiful but then I'm biased as fairies and mystical creatures are a favourite of mine.
Why don't you look up your 'crafts from the past' and join in? Just leave Erika a comment letting her know that you've joined in and she will come visit you.

Well it's rather muggy here today and I'm feeling the heat a bit, I went out for a walk earlier and haven't cooled down yet, so I'm off to chill out in my craft room.
Hope you are all well, see you soon.

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,

Well it's that time again where I join in with Erika and share an old crafty project just for fun.
This one dates back to the beginning of 2012 when I followed a video tutorial by Claire Charville on how to create one of her beautiful albums. This one used Graphic 45's Tropical Travelogue papers and chipboard embellishments.
Now I'm going to warn you it is a very photo heavy post as I had to photo every page with and without the tags and added folders for you to be able to see the pockets and pieces that tuck in the pages, so here we go.....

The front cover...it's a biggie, it measures 19 x 26 x 8 cm

each of those leaves were cut individually from the papers and wired on to stems.
I made my own door plate from cardstock and painted it to give a metal effect as I didn't have a G45 one.

(1) the first page with tags...

(1) tags and photo mats taken out.
~~~~~~~~~
(2) second page
(2) photo mats and tags removed
(2) magnetic lift up flap with photo mat and tag
~~~~~~~

(3) third page

(3) photo mats and tags removed
~~~~~~~
(4) fourth page
(4) photo mats, tag and passport booklet removed
~~~~~~~

(5) fifth page

(5) photo mat, notebook and tag removed
~~~~~~~
(6) sixth page
(6) envelope pockets with tags removed
~~~~~~~

(7) seventh page

(7) magnetic flap, photo mats and tags
~~~~~~~
(8) eighth page
(8) envelope pocket with booklet and tags
~~~~~~~

(9) ninth page

(9) folder and photo mats
~~~~~~~
(10) tenth page
(10) another magnetic flap with photo mats and tags
~~~~~~~

This was a fantastic project to make albeit a time consuming one and I learnt lots of techniques whilst making this first album. I haven't had a chance to make another in the last three years but I would like to make one again. I really enjoyed creating all the hidden pockets and flaps which make it interesting to the viewer as they discover something new on every page.
Well I hope you liked my 'oldie' make for today, if you would like to join in with this fun event on a Friday just give Erika a nod on her blog and join in!

See you soon,

Lorraine

Friday has come round again and it is time to join in with Erika from Snappy Crafts and share an 'oldie' crafty project just for fun.

Hobby Craft Sentiment Stamp
Gold Embossing Powder
Braided Trim and Pearl String from Stash
