Card-In-A-Box ~ Baby Boy

Hi Crafters, we've had such a lovely sunny day here, albeit a little chilly, I hope you've had the same.
I have seen so many Box Cards on the internet lately that I just had to give it a try so here is my  Baby Boy card in a box.

I used the lovely stamp and die sets from Clearly Besotted Stamps for the train and the baby items. The paper was from a magazine freebie and the heart shaped button and twine from my stash.
Here's a closer shot...

...a top view...

...and a side view...

The back has a blank panel to write your message and I stamped 'Bundle of Joy' on it but unfortunately I couldn't get a picture of that, my camera decided that there wasn't enough light at that point even though I hadn't changed anything from taking all the other photo's and it wouldn't focus properly, so I admitted defeat and called it a day. This card will fit inside a C5 envelope when folded flat so it's perfect for sending and surprisingly isn't that bulky.
Challenges I'd like to enter are:
Addicted To Stamps - Fancy Folds
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes
Country View Challenges - New Beginnings

Thanks for stopping by,

See you soon,

Lorraine

Flying High

Happy Valentine's Day ! Everyone.

Hi, hope you are all feeling some luurve today xxx. I have a birthday card though to share with you that I finished a couple of days ago.

Using my graphics programme ' My Craft Studio' I put together this male birthday card. A bit of fussy cutting and layering, a sentiment stamp and an aeroplane charm later - there was my card. I had to make it a quick one because so far this month I have made 20 cards for orders and I still have another 5 to get finished by the 20th February, phew :) I really love making them but it's been pretty hectic getting them all done.
I'm entering this in to these challenges:
A Creative Romance - Let's Get Sentimental
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes
Through The Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

Enjoy your time with loved ones,
See you later,

Lorraine

Just For You ~ Nephew

Hi Crafters,
A warm welcome to all my new and existing followers and a thank you for your lovely comments here on my blog.
I haven't posted for a week it seems and I just don't know where that week went, I've been in my craft room but, alas my crafty mojo has spread it's wings and flown South for the winter I think.  I have lots of cards to make and my order book is quite full but I just can't seem to get in to it right now so I rummaged through my draws and decided to take an easy option of using a decoupage kit and matching papers from Docrafts.

Card Recipe
Docrafts Wellington 6 x 6 paper pack
Docrafts Wellington Decoupage sheet
Docrafts Papermania Capsule Collection Polka Dot Mini Buttons

Doesn't he look so squeezy and cuddly. I like the muted tones on this card for my Nephew and I placed three Docrafts mini buttons in the corner for interest.
I have a few more male cards to make for February, I think I might use this set again, unless of course, Mr Mojo returns soon.
I'm entering this card in two challenges:
Scribble And Scrap - Anything Goes
Through The Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

Hope you are all well, these wet dreary days can leave you feeling down, roll on Spring, PLEASE !

Bye for now

Marvelous Magnolia

Hi,
I was inspired to enter the challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia by Linda Levoir, one of the DT members. She has made a wonderful card for the challenge and you can see it on her blog Sticky with Glitter . I only have three Magnolia Tilda stamps at the moment so I chose one which looked fairly simple to colour as I intended to try something new. Instead of using my Promarkers I thought I would try water colouring with Distress Inks for a change.

Card Recipe
Cardstock - Kraft
Papers - Doodlebug Designs (spotted)
Distress Inks and waterbrush
Stickles
Flowers and lace - WOC
Corner Dies - Marianne Designs LR0280
Frame Die - Memory box Small Felicity Frame

As it's my first attempt at water colouring with DI's I don't think it turned out too bad. I know what to change for next time now. The challenge at Marvelous Magnolia requires lace in your project and as I've almost covered mine up here's a close up just to prove it's there, lol.
I'd like to enter this in to the following challenges:
Marvelous Magnolia - Lovely Lace
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Through The Craftroom Door - Anything Goes
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes
A Creative Romance - Something New (Water colour technique)

Well that's it from me, hope you've all had a lovely day and looking forward to the weekend.

See you soon,
Lorraine

Crafters Companion - Barkley

Hi Crafters,

What happened to yesterday?
I meant to post this yesterday but the time just got away from me, so here it is - one of my latest Christmas cards.
This is Barkley and Friends, a Christmas pre-coloured digi from a decoupage sheet and a great shaped card that I purchased from the NEC recently. I tried out my new snowflake die from Joy and glittered it up with Cosmic Shimmer Aurora Crystal Sparkle embossing powder, I've used this a lot lately, I love it. The sentiment is from a Dreamees set of stamps. Sorry the lighting is rubbish.
Here is a closer view...
... you can just make out the layers of decoupage.
And a nice close up of the snowflake and embossing.
As you can see Father Christmas really needs to bring me a new camera and a light box, I've been very good, promise. We will have to see, it could just be the photographer lol.

I'd like to enter this in to the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Christmas Creatures
Country View Crafts - Bah-Humbug
Bearly Mine Challenge - Sketch #116
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Winter Wonderland - Embossing (Dry & Heat)
A Creative Romance - Sparkle at Christmas
Scribble & Scrap - Challenge #7 Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate your comments and try to visit all your blogs too. I always look at your work even if I don't have time to comment.
The glitter is calling, must dash,

Lorraine

Art Impressions

Hi, today I have a card to share with you using an Art Impressions stamp which I haven't used until now, it was just perfect for this card and the recipient will appreciate the humour in it. It's a long story but suffice to say this particular lady and the swimming pool have a history :)

I used my Promarkers again and some lovely papers from My Minds Eye Blush paper pad. The bubbles are a Memory Box die and the sentiments are created on my computer. I had some issues with the vivid pink Promarker seeping over the outline so I decided to cut the image out and glue it to the mount instead, it worked out ok I think.
I'd like to enter this in to the challenge at:
Scribble & Scrap - #6 Anything Goes

Well it's getting late now, hope you've all had a great day,
See you soon,
Lorraine

Die-cut Decoupage

Hi Crafters,
Hope you are enjoying your weekend, the weather has been very dull and dreary here today but I've been in my craft room with my head down, busy creating so I haven't been too bothered with the weather.
I decided to use a die-cut decoupage sheet that I've had in my stash for a while as the recipient for this commissioned card, (Sheila) loves her garden and the wildlife within it.
So this one seemed appropriate.

I used some papers from the 'First Edition' paper pad 'Bird Song' they are very pretty and complemented the colours in the decoupage. I also edged the layers with some pink 'Art Glitter. The words and letters of her name were cut out using dies that I bought on my recent trip to the NEC. Shhh don't tell hubby but I haven't found room to put away all the lovely things I got yet, they're still in the carrier bags, lol. I got rather carried away by all the lovely stalls, and armed with my birthday money I went from stall to wonderful stall collecting all the things I needed and, I'm afraid, more besides.
Here's a close up view of those lovely birds,

Mmmm, albeit a tad blurred, blast that camera :(

I'd like to enter this card in to the following challenges:

Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by,
Lorraine

Pretty In Pink.....

.....that's the name of the challenge over on Crafty Little Fairies blog this week and I'd like to show you my card.

This was another commissioned card and I do love the filigree die cut shapes produced by the Spellbinders Elegant Labels 4 die that I used. The papers come from an old Papermania pad called Henbury Lane that I had in my stash. Quite a simple card with lots of layers, I think it turned out well. I would also like to enter this in the following challenges.
Bearly Mine Challenges - Anything Goes
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes
Scribble and Scrap - Anything Goes

We are having such a wet week that I think winter has arrived with a vengeance here in Norfolk, I hate the rain I find it very depressing so am trying to cheer myself up by creating bright and cheerful cards. I have also had a look at quite a few of your blogs this week and there are a lot of very talented ladies out there who I admire. I have a lot of practicing to do if I am to reach their standard :D.  With that said I feel another practice session coming on, so bye for now,
Try to stay dry, lol,
