Christmas Card Club Challenge #6 Santa

 Hi Crafters,

I'm sharing another Christmas card make with you today for the new challenge at our friendly Christmas Card Club.

This week our theme was

SANTA

Above is a lovely image from Hunkydory and sentiment die is from Poppy Crafts. (I'm still trying to use up my Peel-offs too)
Below is an adorable image which I couldn't resist buying from CraftsUprint, I just love his jolly face.

I have layered the image with foam tape and added some glitter to his beard and to the snowflakes for a simple card design.

Knock, Knock, Who's There?.....Santa!

Hi Crafters,

Thank you for the lovely comments on my mixed media card that I shared with you a couple of days ago. While I had the paints and messy playtime stuff out on my desk I thought I would finally have a go at decorating one of the wooden fairy doors from The Works that had been sitting waiting patiently on my shelf for months!
I decided to make it in to a Christmas project.

After removing the hinges and latch I set about painting the frame with two tones of  green Pebeo paint and the door with a red DecoArt paint that came free with a magazine recently. The base was painted with white acrylic and then I added snowballs from Anna Marie Designs using 3D Schnee glue, once this was dry I gave the whole thing a spray coat of  Spray & Sparkle - Pearl Diamond from Crafters Companion. It now has a durable top coat and beautiful shimmer all over, I hope you can see this in the photo's. The wooden 'Christmas' word, which I picked up from my trip to the N.E.C. this year, was given a coat of gold paint and also a coating of sparkle spray. Both the wooden snowflakes have been in my stash for some time and these were heat embossed with white and then a silver sparkle embossing powder.
After re-assembling the hinges and latch I set about creating a wreath from a Martha Stewart frond punch, some tiny red pearls, a teeny tiny bell and a new Tonic word die.

I think Santa falls into this category quite nicely, after all we know he isn't real, don't we?

Christmas Card Club Challenge #2 Sleigh

Hi Crafters,

It's time for our friendly Christmas Card Club to meet again and our theme which was chosen by Maureen is 'Sleigh'.

I have used this fabulous image from Bugaboo Stamps featuring jolly old Santa and his sleigh in a snow globe.

 Recipe
Image - Snow Globe - Santa's Sled - Bugaboo Stamps
Medium - Pro/flexmarkers
Papers - Me To You - Happy, Jolly Christmas
Kraft Card
Sizzix Word Die
Marianne Designs & Impression Obsession Snowflake Dies
MFT Stitched Square Dies
Crafters Companion Christmas Embossing Folder
Gems
Glamour Dust

I've seen lots of crafty folk recently making these types of backgrounds with patches of coordinating papers so I thought I would give that a go. I like how it turned out, especially using the MFT stitched square dies, which took all the work out of cutting and measuring. I embossed the panel behind Santa with a CC Christmas Words embossing folder but then covered most of it up with the snow globe, never mind. Lastly, I cut out the word 'believe' from my new set of Sizzix dies, loving these as there are so many combinations using the words included in it, and adhered it and the snowflakes to balance out the card.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Crafty Time - #9 Make It Sparkle
The Ribbon Girl - January Any Image Challenge
Incy Wincy Designs - Tic Tac Toe (Embossing, Red, Die Cut)
I Love Promarkers - #300 Use Something New
( New Image & New Word Die)
Creative Moments - #85 ATG/Let It Snow
Aud Sentiments - #147 ATG
Creative Fingers - #101 ATG

I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend, I think it's meant to be dry here for the next few days thank goodness.
I'll be back tomorrow with my Design Team inspiration for 613 Avenue Create, see you then.

Christmas Card Club Challenge #17 - Santa Claus is coming to Town

Hi Crafters,

Again I'm posting my CCC card a day early as I have another DT card for tomorrow, hope that's ok ladies?

Carol is our hostess this time and she has chosen 'Santa Claus is coming to Town'.

Recipe
Topper - Hobby House - Jolly Christmas
Papers - Dovecraft - 'Back To Basics Christmas'
Kraft Card
Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Circle and Classic Scalloped Ovals
Sentiment - Tonic Studios 'Tis The Season' Die Set
Velvet Ribbon
Gathered Twigs Distress Ink
Glamour Dust

As you can see I went for an easel card, it was rather a large topper measuring 12 cm across so putting it on an easel card gave me the extra space I needed on the bottom layer for the beautiful sentiment die. I inked through the die with DI and Versamark clear ink and heat embossed it with a glitter EP.
Here's a quick view of the inside and space to write your message.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Papertake Weekly - To Die For
ABC Christmas - Q is for Quantum Leap ( D is for Die Cuts)
Creative Moments - #75 ATG - Fancy Folds
Winter Wonderland - Christmas Carols/Songs (Santa Claus is coming to Town)
Sister Act - #120 ATG
Creative Fingers - #90 ATG
Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge - #94 ATG + Add a Border
Crafty Time - #4 Movie, Book or Song ( Song- Santa Claus is coming to Town)
Little Claire's Designs - #60 Christmas in August

Thanks for popping by today, the rest of the CCC will be showcasing their cards tomorrow, you can take a peek at them by following the links in the tab above.
It's going to be a scorcher here today according to the weather man - it's already 24 degrees. We've been out this morning before it got too hot and so now I'm keeping cool in my craft room.

See you soon,

Lorraine

Vintage Santa Digi  - Sherri Baldy
Pro/flexmarkers
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Go Kreate large oval die
Tumbled Glass Distress Ink
Glitter embossing powder
Sentiment - Magazine Freebie

I inked and glitter embossed around the edges of the card and the oval aperture and it looks fine IRL but here in the photo it looks grubby :(

Santa Christmas Tags

Hi folks,
Hope you all had a great weekend.
Yesterday I posted my first Christmas tags creations of this year and I've been busy this morning making some different ones.....

I bought this lovely Santa stamp from Creative Expressions and I couldn't wait to use it and I think it turned out ok. The construction of the tags is the same as before but this time I added punched holly leaves and tinkling bells to the ribbon bow. I'm really pleased how these look. There is a space on the back for writing your message and a red twine loop for attaching to your gift. These will also be in my Etsy shop.
Here is a close up view...

My creative juices are flowing now I can think of lots more ideas, it's just having the time to fit it in, lol.
Well I hope you enjoyed my little blog post for today, I would love to have a few more followers stopping by but I have only been blogging a month so it's early days.
Happy crafting everyone.

My First Christmas Card This Year.....

.....only 49 more to go :/
Hi everyone thanks for stopping by.
Thought I would start the new month with my first Christmas card as I have quite a few to make each year. It's quite hard though, creating Christmasy things when the sun is shining outside and it's in the very high twenties, but still it has to be done.
This little 'fella' is a Santa topper from The Range, the papers and ribbons are from my stash. I've managed to collect rather a lot of festive goodies over the years so I haven't had to buy any this time, hubbie will be pleased.

The cute little flair button in the corner is part of a set from 36 Shades of Flair . The owner, Kimberly had a giveaway on her Facebook page and I was the lucky winner! Take a look at all the other great buttons she has there and in her Etsy store, there's one for every occasion.
Well this won't do, I must get on, lots more cards to make and housework to do somewhere in between.
See you all later,

Happy Crafting

Lorraine
