Fairy Delights

Hi Crafters,

I'm doing well with my mission to post each day and get some of cards up here on my blog. Thanks for calling by and sharing your comments and encouragement.

Today I have three fairy themed cards, they all started off with experimental inky backgrounds using Distress Oxide inks. I don't often get the chance for 'messy' play but when I do I really enjoy the process.

The two cards above were made using the Papercuts dies by Cathie Shuttleworth. The sentiment stamps and die cut word are from Crafters Companion. I sprayed them both with Crafters Companion Spray & Sparkle - Pearl Diamond.

This card was created using lots of different stamps from Lavinia, Sheena Douglas and magazine freebies. The sentiment die is a Fuzzy Lemon one from Craft Stash.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Incy Wincy Designs - Fantasy
Stamping Sensations - Things with Wings

Wishing you a great week...

Knock, Knock, Who's There?.....Santa!

Hi Crafters,

Thank you for the lovely comments on my mixed media card that I shared with you a couple of days ago. While I had the paints and messy playtime stuff out on my desk I thought I would finally have a go at decorating one of the wooden fairy doors from The Works that had been sitting waiting patiently on my shelf for months!
I decided to make it in to a Christmas project.

After removing the hinges and latch I set about painting the frame with two tones of  green Pebeo paint and the door with a red DecoArt paint that came free with a magazine recently. The base was painted with white acrylic and then I added snowballs from Anna Marie Designs using 3D Schnee glue, once this was dry I gave the whole thing a spray coat of  Spray & Sparkle - Pearl Diamond from Crafters Companion. It now has a durable top coat and beautiful shimmer all over, I hope you can see this in the photo's. The wooden 'Christmas' word, which I picked up from my trip to the N.E.C. this year, was given a coat of gold paint and also a coating of sparkle spray. Both the wooden snowflakes have been in my stash for some time and these were heat embossed with white and then a silver sparkle embossing powder.
After re-assembling the hinges and latch I set about creating a wreath from a Martha Stewart frond punch, some tiny red pearls, a teeny tiny bell and a new Tonic word die.
