Embossing at Allsorts Challenge #752

 Hi Crafters,

Happy Weekend!

Saturday means a new challenge at Allsorts and we'd like to see your creations using EMBOSSING, either heat or dry embossing. I have used both on this young lads card with the brick embossing folder and then all the letters, numbers and hinge die cuts have been heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The set of prizes this month are from Stampendous and Oakwood Direct and WOWVOW
so check back on the challenge blog regularly to see if you are chosen in the weekly top 5 or are one of our lucky winners drawn at the end of the month.

Have a fabulous day!

Passion For Markers Challenge #625 - Embossing (Heat/Dry)

 Hi Crafters,

It must be my week! After choosing the theme for the new challenge at Allsorts on Saturday it's also my turn to choose the theme for the new challenge at Passion For Markers today.

I have a ton of embossing folders that I have gathered over the years and a draw full of different colours and types of embossing powders. I forget to use them on my cards and it is such a shame as they create interesting and pretty details in your card designs. So, I thought I would challenge everyone to use theirs.

My theme this week therefore is.....

EMBOSSING (Heat/Dry)

After colouring the tulip border image from our sponsor with my Promarkers I hunted down my tulip embossing folder that has been languishing in the drawer for some time (actually it does have a yearly outing when I batch make my Easter cards) it is only A6 in size but with the extra matts and layers I have scaled this card up to a 5" x 7". Using the Ticker Tape set I stamped the word 'Happy' in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with WOW red embossing powder. I then die cut the 'Easter' word and added this to the bottom of my design.

Bold and Beautiful

Hi Crafters,

Well the weekend is here and hopefully we will go out somewhere today so I'll make this a quick post.

Here are three cards, all using a Sara Davis Antique Edge border die, Phill Martin Sentiment Dies and a few embossing folders and ribbon from my stash.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
As You Like It Challenge - Favourite way to add text + why
I love using my dies to add sentiments and text. I have gathered quite a collection together over the years so I can usually find something that fits a particular theme that is asked for. Using dies gives a clean, crisp cut word which works better for me than stamping.
Krafty Chicks - #470 ATG/ Just a Sentiment
Crafty Gals Corner - #198 Emboss It

Bye for now

Here's my card for today showing this gorgeous butterfly embossing folder. I love dry embossing as there are so many beautiful folders out there now allowing us to achieve wonderful texture and interest on our projects.

ABC Christmas Challenge - E is for Embossing, Wet or Dry

Hi Crafters,

I hope your Wednesday has got off to a good start.
It is a new challenge at ABC Christmas today and here is my card for the theme of
'E' is for Embossing - Wet or Dry.

I've used both types of embossing on my card

The background has been dry embossed and letter-pressed using a snowflake Cuttlebug EF and some Memento ink. The sentiment strip is also dry embossed and inked over to show the words.
On the Marianne Skates die I have inked through the die with Hickory Smoke DI and added clear embossing powder then heat embossed this to give a shiny effect on the heels of the skates - not that you can see it on this photo very well - why is it notoriously difficult to capture anything glittery or shiny and yet when you don't want the shine, like with mirri card it takes over your photo? Ah well you will have to imagine it's there :o)

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Winter Wonderland - Must Use a Sentiment

Rightio! time to get your embossing folders and powders out and create a Christmas project, the prize, should you be the lucky winner is a beautiful Snow Flourish die from ...

That's it for today,
see you soon,

Lorraine

2014 Catch Up

Hi Crafters,
Whilst sorting through some of my files on my computer I found a few pics of cards that I had not had a chance to share so thought I would show you now.

This first photo is of a card I made for my husbands' Birthday using a decoupage sheet from Craft Creations but I really liked making the background best. I used a Spellbinders deep embossing folder and inked the cardstock afterwards with black soot distress ink picking up the embossing and then carefully applied Versamark clear embossing ink and clear powder over the raised parts, giving this gorgeous industrial effect.
A close up view to show the embossing.

I thought I would do this again on another card but this time using an X-Cut embossing folder covered with tiny cogs.

Another close up

And in true Monty Python style -  now for something completely different...

... a Wedding Card. I made my own rolled roses with  an MFT die and used a Martha Stewart border punch for the accent piece.

This card was rather fun, inspired by something I saw on Pinterest, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the spectacles a few times and layered them up to be a sturdy weight and popped them on foam pads.

I'd like to enter this last one in to the challenges at
Come And Get It - Humorous Cards.
Quirky Crafts - #1 Clean & Simple

Well that's it from me today, thank you to everyone who has popped in here recently and left some fabulous comments, I really do appreciate it.
See you all soon,

Lorraine

M.I.A.

Phew where has this week gone?...
Sorry I've been missing in action this week, it's been very hectic in our household. I've also been beavering away in my craftroom trying to make lots of things for a stall at a Macmillan Coffee Morning that I have been kindly asked to attend. The only thing was that it was very short notice and I did not have many items to sell. So many hours later, I now have Christmas tags, packs of cards, a few items of handmade jewellery, notebooks etc to take next week. I will show a picture soon of my table set out.
For now though, I would like to enter this card in two challenges:
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Make It Sparkle

Firstly, I die-cut the reindeer and tree line and then heat embossed them with black and white embossing powder. the starry night background was inked using Distress Inks -Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire. I had already dry embossed the cardstock with a snowfall embossing folder so I then high-lighted each 'bump' with stickles. the moon was punched out of pearlescent card and two snowflakes added to the corner.
Hope you like.

See you soon

More Tags !

Last batch....I promise.

This is going to be short and sweet tonight...
Four Christmas tags in green.

These are self explanatory I think, I've just heat embossed the design in black embossing powder and inked with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Mowed lawn. Added a few trims and voila!

These are also in my Etsy shop.

Thanks for tagging along....pardon the pun, lol

Happy crafting
