Christmas Card Club Challenge #14 - Penguins

 Hi Crafters,

When I saw this Whimsy Stamps freebie on their blog I just had to colour it up as it was perfect for our challenge at the Christmas Card Club this week.

My background was created using a Stampendous word block stamp which I heat embossed in Cosmic Shimmer Tropic Aqua Blaze embossing powder which has an iridescent look to it. The Sentiment Banner is a Penny Black Christmas Banner set.

Christmas Card Club Challenge #4 - Penguins

 Hi Crafters,

Just popping in today to share two Christmas cards for the fortnightly Christmas Card Club.

Our Valerie has chosen the theme of 

PENGUINS

I've used a download from Debbi Moore Designs which I've had for some time and added some Memory Box Scribble Trio Star dies.

Keeping them quite flat for posting I have used minimal embellishments and just let the images do the work.

Christmas Card Club Challenge #22 - Santa's Little Helpers

 Hi Crafters,

It's Sunday morning and another Christmas Card Club challenge.

This week we've been given the theme of SANTA'S LITTLE HELPERS by Margaret.

I thought these cute penguins looked like they were helping by holding up this Christmas banner. I've coloured them with my trusty Promarkers and the papers are from an older Dovecrafts paper pad.

Then I thought about Santa's reindeer who help him quite a lot too. He wouldn't be able to get round delivering all the gifts without them, so I made a card depicting just that.

The stamped border scene is from Studio Light which I have heat embossed with white embossing powder. Inked the background with Distress Inks and used Britannia Dies and Duo Dies for Santa's Flight and the sentiment.

This is the first time I've used my Polychromo pencils since buying them a couple of months ago. I kept putting off making a start, I think I was a little apprehensive as to how I was going to get on with them after using my Promarkers for so many years. I enjoyed learning the new techniques required for shading and laying down the colours though. I'll certainly be using them again soon.
