Passion For Promarkers Challenge #536 - Lace & Flowers

So how are you all coping with life at the  moment?
I'm surprised that I can remember what day it is, they are all beginning to run in to one another :)

We would like to see your projects using LACE & FLOWERS and your Winsor Newton Markers of course. Please tell us in your post where you have used them to help our Design Team when they visit your blog.

Christening Dress

Hi Crafters,

I'm sure that many of you, like me, have a stash of lace and trims in your craft room and when I was asked to create a Christening card recently and the brief was 'pretty and girly' I came up with this design.

Recipe
Crafters Companion Brick Embossing Folder and Arch Window Die
Tattered Lace Picot Edge Frame die
LOTV Sentiment Stamp
Pearls and lace from my stash

I set about making the dress by drawing half the shape on a folded piece of paper and cutting it out. When unfolded it makes the full dress shape, an easy way to ensure it is symmetrical. I used this template to cut out the dress in pearl card and embossed this to create the swirly pattern.
Then I added the layers of lace for the frills of the dress and trimmed the neck and sleeves with pearls.
The card turned out quite chunky so I had to make a box for it too.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Embossing Wet/Dry
Creative Inspirations - Lace & Pearls

I said I'd share some of my holiday photo's with you so here are a few of Portmeirion which we visited, with it's brightly painted buildings.

We walked across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct alongside the canal boats. It crosses the Dee Valley and is 38m high. I really don't like heights but held on to the rail tightly. :o/
This is the view looking back over the side after we'd walked across...

The holiday cottage where we stayed

...and after climbing the hill behind it this was our reward.

Wedding Box/Keepsake

Hi Crafters,

I was asked to create a Wedding Box or Keepsake so that money could be given to the happy couple in something a bit more presentable than just an envelope, it is also big enough to keep mementos of the day ie. garter, place name, confetti etc.

I used lots of lace, pearls and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The chipboard 'Mr & Mrs' is from Anna Marie Designs.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Not Just Cards - #58 ATG

Passion For Promarkers Challenge # 386 - Add lace, Ribbon, Twine

Hi Crafters,

Thank you for visiting today, my blog has been rather neglected and posts have been sparse of late but today I am here to share my DT card for Passion For Promarkers.
This week our challenge is to...

ADD LACE, RIBBON, TWINE.

I've managed to use lace and ribbon in my design but you can use just one if you like.
Please remember to use your Winsor Newton (Letraset) Markers to qualify for the prize and tell us where you have used them in your project.

I've coloured an image that I had in my collection from our sponsor, Di's Digi Stamps, with my markers and added a little glitter to the icing on the cake - this is pink in real life but the light from the camera is turning it lilac.

Hi Crafters,

I would just like to say a big thank you to all visitors of my blog over the last fortnight and for the lovely comments regarding my mums recovery from her op. I was able to get a little colouring done while I was away and this is a card I created for a friends birthday. I used some measuring tape ribbon for this challenge and my Promarkers of course.

Decorated Trinket Box

Hi Crafters,
Hope you are all well. It's very misty and murky here today, hope it brightens up soon.
Between making cards I have been trying my hand at decorating a wooden trinket box. With a couple of craft fairs coming up soon I decided to create a variety of projects for my stall, some of which I will share with you in the future.

I got my hot glue gun out of hibernation and used my stash of lace, trims and flowers to create a pretty box for your bedroom dressing table.
Here's the inside...
After painting the bare wood I sprayed it with two shades of Perfect Pearls Pearlescent Shimmer, but unfortunately what looks like blotches on the inside in this picture is actually how the camera has picked up where the shimmer is :(  -even the white pearls have a creamy/peach tone here too :/ very frustrating, but in real life it is very pretty.
I lined the inside with matching paper to take away the plainness.
Hope you like my little box and I would like to enter it in to these challenges,

Scribble & Scrap - # 27 Anything Goes
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Diva's By Design - Anything But a Card
Charisma Cardz  - Lace & Pearls
A Creative Romance - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon,
