Trinket Box

Hi Crafters,

Today I haven't got a card for you but I do have a wooden trinket box that I have decorated.

Firstly, I painted the box with gold acrylic paint and while this was drying I started to die cut the filigree parts from black card. I used various Creative Expressions dies for the lid and a Marianne Designs die for around the base. Then I used gold gilding wax on the black die cuts to tie in with the gold box and highlight the embossed details. After sticking these in place I added the braiding using hot glue and began the process of decorating the lid with lots of flowers, beads, pearl strings and leaves from my stash.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
613 Avenue Create - #224 ATG/Create or Decorate a Container
Not Just Cards - #70 ATG

I hope you liked my little box, see you tomorrow for more fun projects.

As You Like It Challenge #77 Anything But a Card and WHY

Hi Crafters,

I'm here today for the new challenge at As You Like It which is 'Anything But a Card'.
We'd like to see your favourite non-card creations and WHY you love making them.

I love decorating wooden trinket boxes for presents and for selling on my stall.  This beautiful lace and pearl trim worked beautifully together and I'd had these porcelain and ribbon flowers in my stash for ages and wanted to incorporate them in the design too.

Christmas Trinket Box

Hi Crafters,
Are you all ready for the big Day?
I'm almost there, just a little bit of food shopping to do tomorrow and that's it, phew!
There's such a lot of work to do to prepare for a couple of days isn't there?
We will get to see family and friends that live away and it's a great time for catching up though.
Now for today's post I would like to share a little Christmas Trinket Box I made recently.

It started life as an ordinary brown cardboard box and I painted it cream and then added a strip of embossed speciality paper around the circumference of the base. Then added this gorgeous tassel trim at the bottom and around the lip on the lid. I used a small doily inked with Antique Linen distress ink and embossed the edges with gold embossing powder to cover the top of the lid. In the centre of this is another circle of the embossed paper also edged with gold EP. The fun part was adding the flowers, glass beads and ribbon to decorate the top. I had this on my stall on Friday and it sold within the first five minutes, I was so pleased.

Decorated Trinket Box

Hi Crafters,
Hope you are all well. It's very misty and murky here today, hope it brightens up soon.
Between making cards I have been trying my hand at decorating a wooden trinket box. With a couple of craft fairs coming up soon I decided to create a variety of projects for my stall, some of which I will share with you in the future.

I got my hot glue gun out of hibernation and used my stash of lace, trims and flowers to create a pretty box for your bedroom dressing table.
Here's the inside...
After painting the bare wood I sprayed it with two shades of Perfect Pearls Pearlescent Shimmer, but unfortunately what looks like blotches on the inside in this picture is actually how the camera has picked up where the shimmer is :(  -even the white pearls have a creamy/peach tone here too :/ very frustrating, but in real life it is very pretty.
I lined the inside with matching paper to take away the plainness.
Hope you like my little box and I would like to enter it in to these challenges,

Scribble & Scrap - # 27 Anything Goes
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Diva's By Design - Anything But a Card
Charisma Cardz  - Lace & Pearls
A Creative Romance - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon,
