CAS at Passion For Markers Challenge #846

 Hi Crafters,

Welcome to this weeks challenge at Passion for Markers where we would love to see your

CLEAN & SIMPLE (CAS) creations.

This make was SO out of my comfort zone as I find CAS rather daunting. Although my cards aren't usually over fussy I have a difficult time of knowing when to stop adding embellishments and details. To me this card looks very bare but it is perfect for the challenge this time so, even if you find it difficult like me, I'm sure that you can all replicate something like this.

The image comes from LOTV (Lili of the Valley), coloured with Copic Markers. I haven't got the name of it unfortunately, it was given to me already stamped in a collection of images. So there's a little puzzle for someone that might have this in digi or stamp form in your collection - perhaps you could enlighten me? I used my Deckle and Stitched Square dies from Jamie Rogers for the frame details.

Allsorts Challenge #663 - CAS opt. Elegance

 Hi Crafters,

Another Saturday has rolled around and I'd like to share my Design Team inspiration for the new challenge at Allsorts this week.

It was Ellie's turn to choose a theme and she would like to see your CAS (clean and simple) creations with the option of Elegance.

This type of card is always difficult for me to create as I tend to add lots of layers and details to my cards but I gave it a go and this is what I came up with.

Recipe

I had purchased some mixed media background stamps from Ebay recently and started by stamping the circles in Ranger Archival Ink - Vivid Chartreuse and the 3 flashes in RAI - Sepia, this gave the cacti pots some grounding. The Cut & Make mini cacti dies are from The Range. I cut them from snippets of card and backed each cacti with the corresponding colour card, gave them a little inking and set them on the card front. The large sentiment is a Woodware Stamp.

Clean and Simple

Hi Crafters,
I find the clean and simple style cards very tricky to master.  My style leans towards a more fussy and embellished look but I am determined to give them a go, I just have to be more disciplined in stopping myself from adding things to the blank spaces, so here goes...

Top Tip Tuesday Challenge #27 - Keep It Simple

Hi Crafters,
Today I am here to share my DT card for Top Tip Tuesday.
The theme this time is 'Keep It Simple'.
Funnily enough I had made a New Years resolution to try my hand at making more CAS cards as I find them quite tricky and then low and behold both my Christmas Club Card and Top Tip Tuesday Design team challenges were for this theme. I went for a simple Thank You card as we have lots to make after receiving our Christmas gifts.

I love making backgrounds with distress inks and a resist technique and for this one I used Versamark ink and holographic embossing powder on the detailed hero Arts stamp, heat embossed it to give the white sparkly areas and then inked over it with three colours of Distress inks. Buffed off the ink from the embossing and voila - a beautiful background. Then I added the stamped and die cut Thank You banner. Very CAS I think this time.

Christmas Card Club Challenge 2015 #1 - CAS in Red, Green and White

Hope you all had a wonderful New Year and didn't over indulge too much.
The new year is in full swing now and we have started our bi-weekly Christmas card challenge again and this time it was Carol's turn to choose our theme of CAS in Red, Green and White.
