Cottage Cutz Cute Fox

Hi Crafters,
I bought a die recently from Cottage Cutz and couldn't wait to use it, it is so cute. I made a very simply designed card to make the die-cut the focal point. I used a digital background paper from Raspberry Road and a small sentiment stamped on to a cloud die-cut and that was it.

Here's a side view...

The die cuts out the various parts of the fox and using coloured cardstock I pieced them altogether, then I cut out a black silhouette of the whole fox and offset it behind the coloured fox for a shadow. Popped him up on foam pads, added my clouds and sentiment and there you have it, my simple CAS card.
Challenges I'd like to enter:
Cute Card Thursday - #364 Celebrate
TTCRD - ATG

Hope you liked my cute, little fox card, I think he's adorable and can see him popping up again soon on a another card.
Well we have brilliant sunshine here at the moment albeit rather chilly and the washing and housework will not do itself so I had better get busy.

See you all soon,
Lorraine

Passion For Promarkers Challenge - #287 - For A Special Lady

Hi Crafters,
With Mother's Day only a few days away our theme this week at Passion For Promarkers is 'For A Special Lady', so you can make a card for your mother, aunt, grandmother, sister, daughter etc. whoever is that special lady in your life.
I have chosen my youngest daughter, it is her 22nd birthday in a few days and so I have made this card using her favourite colours.

Recipe
Butterflies of Hope image by Hannah Lynn
Pro/flexmarkers
LOTV/ Raspberry Road Papers - Timeless Victorian
Tonic Butterfly Border Punch
Magnolia Frond Die
Joy Butterfly Border Die
Britannia 'Daughter' Die
Wild Orchid Craft Flowers
Gutterman Thread
Hobby House Bling

This is a first for me - distressing the edges of the design papers - I have seen so many lovely cards with this feature that I thought I would give it a try and I quite like the look I have achieved. I also hand stitched around the edge of the background layer - it took forever! this is an 8 x 8 card and seemed never-ending, but again I like the effect it gives.

Clean and Simple

Hi Crafters,
I find the clean and simple style cards very tricky to master.  My style leans towards a more fussy and embellished look but I am determined to give them a go, I just have to be more disciplined in stopping myself from adding things to the blank spaces, so here goes...
...this is as CAS as I can get it for now...

 Recipe
A6 card embossed with SB Matting Basics Rectangle Die
Memory Box Grand Madison Window Die
Memory Box Modern Landscape Border
SB D-Lites Die 'Happy Birthday'
Distress Inks for the sky

Challenges:
Addicted To CAS - #58 Distress (Inks)
Sister Act - #96 ATG
Sentimental Sundays - #248 ATG
Cute Card Thursday - #363 Die Cuts and Punches

Well this is a short and sweet post from me today, I'm still making stock for my stall, I have a fair tomorrow and one for the 22nd and then my Farmers Market stall on the 27th not to mention my order book in between that, phew. But I love making cards and projects and I get so much pleasure from it. Hope you all have a great day and that the sun is shining where you are.

See you soon,

Top Tip Tuesday Challenge - Use an Action Image

Hi Crafters,
I'm here today to share my DT card for Top Tip Tuesday. Now you can interpret the theme how you wish, an 'action image' could mean an image doing an activity like skating, cycling, running or it could be as I have chosen to interpret it as an action card. Here is my Penny Slider Card using 'Bunny on a Rocket from our sponsor this time which is Zlatoena's Designs...

Recipe
Thick card base and top layer for support
Bunny on a Rocket Digital image - Zlatoena's Designs
Pro/flexmarkers
Two Pennies
Star Stamps - Lavinia Stamps
Sentiment - Clearly Besotted Stamps
Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Dusty Concorde
Two tone cardstock and various circle dies.

This was such a fun card to make and I loved colouring the little bunny image. I started by stamping random stars over the plain top card layer with clear embossing ink and heat embossed them. Than I inked the sky with Distress Inks, the embossed stars resist the ink and stay white and glossy. Then I spritzed with a water mister to create an outer space look. The planet was created using two different toned pieces of cardstock cut in to circles and using smaller circle dies I randomly cut out the craters and popped it up on foam tape. My image was coloured using my Pro/flexmarkers and attached to one penny with a foam circle. Another foam circle was sandwiched between that and the other penny making the slider mechanism. The tricky part was cutting the curved slot in the top layer of card, I made myself a template first as I didn't want to mess it up at this stage. Once the slot was made then the penny sandwich was inserted and the Rocket now slides and spins along the slot looking like Bunny is whizzing around the planet. That just left the sentiment and I had the perfect one from Clearly Besotted Stamps.
Hope you like my little Penny Slider Card, they are quite easy to make and some of the other DT members have made action cards too so please take a look and get some great ideas. You could win yourself two digital images from our sponsor this time if you are the lucky winner. I  look forward to seeing all your entries over the next two weeks.

Thank you for visiting today and your comments are always welcome. I've been steadily trying to get round all of your blogs recently whilst also trying to build up some more stock for my stall so I apologise if I haven't managed to get to you yet but I have two craft fairs coming up and a Farmers Market event soon which is taking up quite a lot of my time, oh and the family need feeding once in a while, lol. I can see all your lovely creations coming up in my feed list but I can not always comment but be sure that I am following what you are up to and when things quieten down a bit I will visit.
Hope you are managing to stay away from all the nasty bugs and I wish you a happy Spring and hopefully some warmer weather.

See you soon,

Lorraine

Christmas Card Club Challenge #5 Poinsettia - Any colour you like.

Hi Crafters,
Can you believe it is the 1st March already?! well it is and it's also another Christmas Challenge at the CCC. This time it was Margaret's turn to choose the theme and she has come up with a lovely challenge of 'Poinsettia' in any colour you like. I decided on cream and gold for my theme and here it is...

Recipe
Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia Die
Crafters Companion Christmas Village Die
Dew Drop Brilliance Ink - Galaxy Gold
Brittania Dies - 'Merry Christmas'
Joanna Sheen's Ivy Flourish Die
Glitter Card
Gold Mirri
Gems

This was a very simple card to put together, once the Christmas Village was cut, embossed and inked it was just a case of layering it on to the glitter card and mirri card. Then layering up the poinsettia in the top corner, job done! Hope you like my festive offering today? Do check out the other ladies blogs (list in tab at top of page) for their gorgeous makes too, I read somewhere the other day that it was only 42 weeks to Christmas so we had better crack on with the card making :)

Completely Christmas - #52 ATG + Add some Texture
