Christmas Card Club Challenge #7 Christmas Candles

Hi Crafters,

It's time to share another Christmas Card for our fortnightly challenge with the theme of
CHRISTMAS CANDLES

 Recipe
Joanna Sheen Die - Flickering Candles
Sentiment & Holly Stamps - Magazine Freebies
Embossed Cardstock - Limetree Crafts

I enjoyed creating this card, I've been waiting to use this lovely candle die for this challenge. I cut it out several times in the different coloured card and pieced them back together using the gold outline. I kept the scalloped square die on the card then inked and stamped the holly around the edge to give a border. A touch of glitter on the edge of the embossed background and my card was done.
Please take a look at the other team members blogs and creations, their links are in my sidebar under the Christmas Card Club tab.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Rudolph Day Challenge - March ATG Christmas
CHNC Every Saturday - #483 ATG Christmas

I hope you are all staying safe inside away from the Virus. It has seemed like a very long week to me. Although I have my craft to keep me busy my mojo has taken a dive and I feel frustrated that I could be using this time to get ahead but it's just not happening.
I will have to venture out to the shops next week as there are no delivery slots to be had from the supermarkets and essential things are running out, then it will be a quick trip to take supplies to my 88yr old mum, a wave through the window and back home again. Thank goodness for the telephone to enable us to keep in touch as she is scared by anything remotely high tech, bless her.
Stay safe everyone and hopefully we will be out the other side of this soon.

You are far from along on the mojo front Lorraine, here we are with all this time imposed on us and craft seems so difficult, in fact I get to the end of what seems like very long days and find I have achieved virtually nothing.

I've not been beyond the house and garden for almost three weeks now, terrified to contemplate it after the notification from the GP, I always keep the cupboards well stocked but it's amazing how quickly it diminishes,. It's the fresh things I am missing the most, just proves how much we take things for granted normally. Idillic as our very isolated location is, it's times like this I wish there were people a little closer who could help. That said an NHS angel did collect our prescriptions the other day and drove out to us with them which was so appreciated.

Back to your card, it has a lovely traditional feel.

You have made a beautiful card Lorraine. I understand what you say about your mojo. I feel exactly the same. I sit in my craft room looking at various things, then come out and have a cup of tea - no further forward. Stay safe and well. Christine

A beautiful card Lorraine, a fabulous die and you have created a pretty background.
It is difficult for our elderly relatives isn't it, they keep on about text messages and face timing etc., they seem to forget that many do not have computers and mobile phones, my Mum is also very deaf and finds talking on the telephone almost impossible!

A lovely card Lorraine...and such a great die....I think the more time we have sometimes the less inclined we are to do things....I am making myself do a bit of crafting each morning even if I only make up some flowers for use later....
I forgot to turn the clocks last night and still in bed at 11am...this isolation is so much harder than I anticipated thank goodness we have a garden to step out into...take care xxxx

Beautiful Christmas card and love the die-cut candles.Seems everyone the same the more time we have the less we do and think all the mojos are in self enforced isolation!!!

Your card is gorgeous Lorraine, it's a beautiful die and I love the glitter around the card edges.
Such a worrying time for elderly people, and expecting them all to be able to use technology is just not on, and as for getting delivery slots it would be easier if they were left for vulnerable people and those who can't really get to the shops, not if you are fit to get there, just more thoughtlessness.
Keep safe and well, Kate x

Hi Lorraine,
what a very wonderful card and that canle is so pretty.
Love the gold embossed hooly edges and the touch of colour.
I know what you mean aboutwaving at the window as my family do that for me.
At least I am tech minded thank goodness and we face time every day on What's App.
Must be very worring for you.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. DT

Hi Lorraine, that is so lovely. I have a similar die from Memory Box, which was what I'd planned to use, but then went off in a completely different direction!Love how you did the focal image, the die was a great idea to get a border! Stay safe, hugs, Shaz X

Your card is beautiful. This is a fabulous die. I have not seen this one before. Looks great in the pieced colours. That was a lot of work but well worth it!

Glad to hear that you are keeping well, but I know what you mean about sometimes having a dry spell of inspiration.

I made my candle card last week have been struggling ever since...so I pulled out a few pocket books and placed them beside my favourite chair. When I sit to read, I have been trying out various specialty teas I have in, and Al puts on some fave music from our era!

Three books later and now I am ready to craft again!!!

Me again. Back with my official hat on.

Your card is so lovely. The die cut is intricate and pretty in the various colours. Perfectly pops off that embossed background!

Thanks for taking part in the March Rudolph Days Challenge.

Gorgeous card. I did smile When I spotted the Santa hat on the Christmas part of the greeting. I managed to bag a slot two weeks ago for a delivery at the end of April which is still 4 weeks away. Running out of food now so will have to brave the shops for a fill up and then try and make it last out again. Never has shopping for food been such a logistical nightmare. Keep safe and well. Hugs Mrs A.

A beautiful card and the candle is stunning. The frame you have created is gorgeous. I found going quite early to the supermarket was the best time. Not many people about. Stay safe, Carol S.xx
