Christmas Card Club Challenge #18 - A Winter Scene

Hi Crafters,

I'm here a little later than expected today, I was hoping to get this posted this morning but you know how it is - the best laid plans and all that...

Anyway,  this is my card for our fortnightly Christmas Challenge which was set by Rachel this time.

A Winter Scene

I've used another Craft Creations decoupage sheet but instead of a clean and simple design which I've been creating of late I thought I'd go all out on this one.

 It's an easel card too

...and hopefully you can see some the lovely sparkle in this photo. I've used glamour dust and glass glitter with my 3D Schnee from Anna Marie Designs.

I'm a day early with this card as I have another DT post for tomorrow but do pop over to my fellow teamies blogs to see their creations tomorrow - a list of their blogs can be found in the tab at the top of my blog.

We had a lovely start to the day here but we've just had heavy rain. I know the gardens could do with it but fingers crossed that it stays fine and settled for a few weeks longer.

See you tomorrow,

Lorraine

Decoupage

Hi Crafters,

Another beautiful day here in Norfolk, hope you are enjoying some of the sun too.
A quick post from me before I pop out on a few errands today.

This was a commissioned order and remember yesterday when I said there will always be a place for decoupage in my crafting, well this is one of those times. I have used a Crafty Creations die-cut sheet for this one, with a few stamps, dies and an embossing folder from my stash.

2014 Catch Up

Hi Crafters,
Whilst sorting through some of my files on my computer I found a few pics of cards that I had not had a chance to share so thought I would show you now.

This first photo is of a card I made for my husbands' Birthday using a decoupage sheet from Craft Creations but I really liked making the background best. I used a Spellbinders deep embossing folder and inked the cardstock afterwards with black soot distress ink picking up the embossing and then carefully applied Versamark clear embossing ink and clear powder over the raised parts, giving this gorgeous industrial effect.
A close up view to show the embossing.

I thought I would do this again on another card but this time using an X-Cut embossing folder covered with tiny cogs.

Another close up

And in true Monty Python style -  now for something completely different...

... a Wedding Card. I made my own rolled roses with  an MFT die and used a Martha Stewart border punch for the accent piece.

This card was rather fun, inspired by something I saw on Pinterest, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the spectacles a few times and layered them up to be a sturdy weight and popped them on foam pads.

I'd like to enter this last one in to the challenges at
Come And Get It - Humorous Cards.
Quirky Crafts - #1 Clean & Simple

Well that's it from me today, thank you to everyone who has popped in here recently and left some fabulous comments, I really do appreciate it.
See you all soon,

Lorraine

Die-cut Decoupage

Hi Crafters,
Hope you are enjoying your weekend, the weather has been very dull and dreary here today but I've been in my craft room with my head down, busy creating so I haven't been too bothered with the weather.
I decided to use a die-cut decoupage sheet that I've had in my stash for a while as the recipient for this commissioned card, (Sheila) loves her garden and the wildlife within it.
So this one seemed appropriate.

I used some papers from the 'First Edition' paper pad 'Bird Song' they are very pretty and complemented the colours in the decoupage. I also edged the layers with some pink 'Art Glitter. The words and letters of her name were cut out using dies that I bought on my recent trip to the NEC. Shhh don't tell hubby but I haven't found room to put away all the lovely things I got yet, they're still in the carrier bags, lol. I got rather carried away by all the lovely stalls, and armed with my birthday money I went from stall to wonderful stall collecting all the things I needed and, I'm afraid, more besides.
Here's a close up view of those lovely birds,

Mmmm, albeit a tad blurred, blast that camera :(

I'd like to enter this card in to the following challenges:

Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by,
Lorraine
