Happy Retirement

Hi, hope you're seeing the sun today. It's very sunny here albeit a little chilly, but it certainly makes me feel happier.
On to my card for today though, I have been asked to make a retirement card for someone who will be spending their extra time doing up their house. I thought I would use the tools die that I incorporated in my card for yesterday, here's how it turned out.

Card Recipe
Embossing folder - Cuttlebug weave
Woodgrain  paper - MME Howdy Doody 6 x 6 pad
Pegboard - Image from the internet
Tools - Rob Addams Tools Die
Letters - Papermania Urban Stamps Madame Payraud's  'Typewriter'

Challenges:
The Ribbon Girl - Anything Goes

See you all later for a spot of commenting,

Happy Birthday Grandson

Hi Crafters,
Another wet day here, so after my housework was done I went in to my craft room and made this card.

I have to say the red colour on this card is not as bright as it turned out in the photo, it's a cherry colour, but you will have to imagine it, lol. The dies are new and are a set from Rob Addams All Occasion Dies and they cut out perfectly. Here's a side view so that you can see the dimension on the card.

Card Recipe
Card - Cream linen
Embossing Folders - Docrafts 'Happy Birthday' & Spellbinders M-Bossabilities ES-013
Dies - Spellbinders Labels 2 S4-162 & Rob Addams Tools Set ( New Stash)
Ribbon - The Ribbon Girl

I'm entering this card in to this challenge:
Craft Mojo - All Things New ( New Dies)

Thanks for looking in today, hope to see you soon,

Lorraine

B for Bare Essentials

Hello... back again...

Scroll down for my earlier post

The challenge over at ABC Christmas challenge Blog is 'B for Bare Essentials' so you have to use a bare minimum of embellishments. I found it quite difficult to leave it with only one snowflake but here is my card...

Just a bit of matting and layering, 3D Barkley image, a sentiment stamp and two snowflakes layered up on top of each other with a glitter dome in the middle.
I'm entering this in to the challenges at:
ABC Christmas challenge - 'B for Bare Essentials'
Winter Wonderland - A Dog is not just for Christmas

This is also my 3rd Christmas card make for 2014 so I'm now back on track for my 'One a week' challenge.

Thanks for stopping by again,

Lorraine

Sketch Saturday # 293

Hi Crafters,
Well I took some great advice from a bloggy friend and followed a sketch in the hope of kicking my Mojo in to life again.....and I think it's working! Thanks Linda.

Now I know I've taken the easy option of that lovely decoupage set of Wellington the Bear from Docrafts again but I have followed the sketch at...
...and I am entering this card for the challenge.
I used the decoupage from the sheet but this time I only used the matching papers for the banners. The beautifully embossed star card, which I Distress Inked with Faded Jeans, came from Lime Tree Crafts and I purchased this from Birmingham NEC last year. The faded type font paper comes from Hot Off The Press and I've had it in my stash for ages. I was hoarding it but sense prevailed and I thought it would look great with this combination.
That's two cards made for February, I have another nine to complete AND I'm now slightly behind with my 'One a week Christmas card' challenge that I am determined to stick to...   ...so I might see you all later with another post.

Bye for now,

Lorraine

Just For You ~ Nephew

Hi Crafters,
A warm welcome to all my new and existing followers and a thank you for your lovely comments here on my blog.
I haven't posted for a week it seems and I just don't know where that week went, I've been in my craft room but, alas my crafty mojo has spread it's wings and flown South for the winter I think.  I have lots of cards to make and my order book is quite full but I just can't seem to get in to it right now so I rummaged through my draws and decided to take an easy option of using a decoupage kit and matching papers from Docrafts.

Card Recipe
Docrafts Wellington 6 x 6 paper pack
Docrafts Wellington Decoupage sheet
Docrafts Papermania Capsule Collection Polka Dot Mini Buttons

Doesn't he look so squeezy and cuddly. I like the muted tones on this card for my Nephew and I placed three Docrafts mini buttons in the corner for interest.
I have a few more male cards to make for February, I think I might use this set again, unless of course, Mr Mojo returns soon.
I'm entering this card in two challenges:
Scribble And Scrap - Anything Goes
Through The Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

Hope you are all well, these wet dreary days can leave you feeling down, roll on Spring, PLEASE !

Bye for now

Christmas Card 2014 #2

Hi Crafters,
True to my word I'm sticking to my resolution of making a Christmas card each week (so far) and here it is...

Card Recipe
Card - Craft UK scalloped square
Papers - Kaisercraft 'Be Merry Collection'
Stamps - Magnolia 'Winter Forest'
- Snowman from Ebay (sorry no name)
Sentiment - Dreamees stamp set
Large Snowflake - Memory box 'Bianca Snowflake'
Small snowflakes - Cheery Lynn
Brad and ribbon from stash
Promarkers

I'm entering this in to the challenges at:
ABC Christmas Challenge - 'A' is for Anything Christmas
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

It's very dull and drizzly outside the window today so I'm not going to look out anymore, just keep my head down and get on with an increasing list of commissions that, although I'm grateful for them, I just don't seem to be making headway with, lol.

Catch up with your blogs later,

Lorraine

Clearly Besotted Challenge #7

Hi Crafters,
I couldn't resist treating myself to these lovely stamps when Clearly Besotted Stamps released their new collection last week. Unfortunately I was too late to purchase the matching dies as they flew out the door very quickly so will have to wait for those. However, I managed to cut quite easily around the stamped images and this is my entry for their Challenge #7 - 'Love'

I thought I would have a go at CAS cards for a change. It's harder than it looks, I want to keep adding stuff but I managed to hold back enough to keep this as Clean and Simple as possible. The red looks rather orangey in the photo but it is a deeper red in real life, lol.
I'm off to keep up my promise to myself to make one Christmas card a week this year, so I'm thinking snowmen today, we'll see what stamp I can come up with and maybe I will catch you later with a card.
Thanks for stopping by,

Lorraine

Marvelous Magnolia

Hi,
I was inspired to enter the challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia by Linda Levoir, one of the DT members. She has made a wonderful card for the challenge and you can see it on her blog Sticky with Glitter . I only have three Magnolia Tilda stamps at the moment so I chose one which looked fairly simple to colour as I intended to try something new. Instead of using my Promarkers I thought I would try water colouring with Distress Inks for a change.

Card Recipe
Cardstock - Kraft
Papers - Doodlebug Designs (spotted)
Distress Inks and waterbrush
Stickles
Flowers and lace - WOC
Corner Dies - Marianne Designs LR0280
Frame Die - Memory box Small Felicity Frame

As it's my first attempt at water colouring with DI's I don't think it turned out too bad. I know what to change for next time now. The challenge at Marvelous Magnolia requires lace in your project and as I've almost covered mine up here's a close up just to prove it's there, lol.
I'd like to enter this in to the following challenges:
Marvelous Magnolia - Lovely Lace
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Through The Craftroom Door - Anything Goes
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes
A Creative Romance - Something New (Water colour technique)

Well that's it from me, hope you've all had a lovely day and looking forward to the weekend.

See you soon,
Lorraine

Flowers - WOC

Take Flight Butterfly

Hi Everyone,
Although it's winter outside my thoughts are with Spring days, colourful flower borders, birds and butterflies. I really can't wait for the better weather to arrive. So with that in mind I created this birthday card.

I used my Spellbinders Butterfly Magic die and then cut out another butterfly and layered it on top. The background was plain white card inked with Distress Inks and mica powder for the shimmer.
I'm entering this in to the challenge at Through The Craftroom Door - Anything Goes.
I'm off to catch up with some blogs now so see you all soon,

A Simple Thank You

Hi,
Now that the new year has started I have been busy making 'Thank you' cards for friends and family. This year I have chosen a simple design to make my life easier, lol, and batch made them all the same.

A6 card blank
Docrafts Spotted ribbon
Embossalicious Daisy embossing folder
Stampin 'Up sentiment stamp
Adhesive gem stones

This card is also dedicated to the lovely people who have visited my blog since it began in August 2013, and left some wonderful comments. I really do appreciate the time taken to look and comment on my work and look forward to more followers in this year ahead. I have thoroughly enjoyed this little venture in to the blogging world and have encountered such friendly and genuine people along the way who are always willing to give advice and encouragement, so
Thank you !

Back soon,
