Christmas Card Club Challenge - #9 Stencils

 Hi Crafters,

It's our ninth Christmas Card Club challenge today.  Time just ran out for me this week so looking through my folders I found this card that I made last year but never blogged.

The owl and sentiment were a magazine freebie stamp set and I added some stencilled stars to an inky splattered leftover scrap piece of card. The stamping around the edge is from a Studio Light frame stamp called Winter Trails. I then coloured the little owl with Promarkers.

Allsorts Challenge #726 - ATG/One For The Girls

 Hi Crafters,

Another Saturday has rolled around again and so a new challenge has started at Allsorts.

We would like to see your projects with the theme of

ONE FOR THE GIRLS

but you also have the ANYTHING GOES option too, so nice and easy to come and join in with us.

I have created a very girly card using an old Memory Box Dress and Hanger die set.

I cut the dresses from little scraps of inky backgrounds and off cuts of glitter card etc that were hanging around in my scraps box, it felt good to use some of them. I also used a Tattered lace Stitched Square die to create the silver frames.

For the Love of Animals - Allsorts Challenge #725

 Hi Crafters,

April is National Pet month so with that in mind we would love to see all your pet related creations at Allsorts this week. You can opt for the Anything Goes option too but I'm sure we all have something in our crafty stash that fits the bill.

This image is from a Hunkydory Paper Pad and I have created my own background using Distress Oxide Inks and a leafy frond stamp. The flowers have been die cut and inked using the same colours and I have added glitter in abundance!

Christmas Card Club Challenge #8 - Dogs and or Cats

 Hi Crafters,

We are asking to see your Christmas Dogs and Cats this week at the Christmas Card Club.

I found this a little challenging as when I looked at my crafty stash I seemed to have every other animal except these! I had Christmas Reindeer, Polar Bears, Foxes, Horses, Owls, Squirrels, Donkeys, Camels, Geese, Sheep, Mice, Hedgehogs but no Christmas Dogs or Cats! Well my trusty go-to, CraftsUprint came to the rescue and here is my card.

A little bit of fussy cutting and layering and viola!

Create Your Own Background at Allsorts Challenge #724

 Hi Crafters,

Well we are back to our weekly challenges at Allsorts starting today and we have a great theme for you all to join in with.

ATG/ CREATE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND

Coloured with Promarkers

My background was created using a Polkadoodles Brick Wall stencil and two colours of Distress oxide inks - Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick. I also splashed some large drops of water onto it and mopped with a kitchen towel to 'bleach' some of the colour out. The first and second generation stamping of the plants were done using a Sheena Douglas stamp set. Finally I cut a grassy border using a die in my stash.

Passion For Markers Challenge #685 - Pretty Pastels

 Hi Crafters,

I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend however you celebrated it.

We were lucky enough to have some lovely weather for the most part which is quite unusual for a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK.

I have my DT card for the new challenge at Passion For Markers where we would like to see your creations using 

PASTEL COLOURS

This sweet image is from Whimsy Stamps and is called 'Butterfly Friends' which I have coloured with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir markers. This theme was a challenge for me as I tend to gravitate towards bolder, darker colours but I enjoyed the process of making this card and the image was a dream to colour.

Allsorts Challenge #722/3 - ATG/In The Spring Garden

 Hi Crafters,

Second post today, this one is for the new challenge at Allsorts which will last for two weeks to accommodate the Easter holiday weekend.

These quaint little Daffodils and Grape Hyacinths are from Carnation Crafts. I used a Duo Die set of Scalloped Rectangle dies and Hobby Art sentiment stamp.

Challenge #110 - Spring is Coming!

 Hi Crafters,

This is the first of two posts today, highly unusual for me to post twice in one day but it happens to be the start of a new month and a Saturday so it's Crafts Galore Encore challenge and also Allsorts challenge too.

The Design Team are creating with a Spring theme using the wonderful images from our sponsor but you can enter any project with an Anything Goes theme.

Kate Hadfield Designs

Our prize this month is a £6 Store voucher for Kate Hadfield Designs.

I have decided to make a page for my Art Journal that I made the cover for about a year ago. I don't get a lot of time for 'messy' mixed media play so this is the first time I have had a chance to create something to go inside it, here is the first page.

I started by pasting some torn pieces of music paper on to the page and then I used texture paste through a  stencil over the top. I inked with various Distress Oxide inks on top of that and finished with some white acrylic paint through the wavy lines stencil from Polkadoodles. A bit of script stamping and gilding wax around the edge to finish it off. Then I decided to add some white Frantage which I've had for ages to lighten the centre of the page. The images were coloured with Promarkers and cut out and placed to create the scene. I managed to find the wavy 'Spring is Coming' stamp in my stash. It's surprising what you manage to collect in 15 years of crafting!
