Stop, I want To Get Off!

Hi Crafters,

It's been a VERY busy week and as my title suggests I want it to stop now please :)
I've managed a few comments along the way but haven't posted anything here all week so today I'm going to remedy that.

I won the fabulous Spellbinders 'Tropical Paradise' Background die which arrived this week and just had to make a card using it. I have also used Spellbinders Labels Fifty One dies for the mats behind my fun clipart monkey. Some Charisma die cut leaves left over from another project which were on my desk and the Sizzix Planks Dies made great places to add my words.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Allsorts Challenge - #538 Trees and Leaves
Creative Moments - #177 ATG opt. Masculine

See you again soon,

A Couple of Shakers! :o)

Hi Crafters,

I've been on a shaker card making fest.
I have two to share with you today which were commissioned with particular themes in mind.

The first is using a Celtic Dreams Die by Lavinia Stamps called 'Hidden Secrets'. I love those whimsical houses.

I've also used a Lavinia Stamps printed background behind my acetate, I love the colours in this woodland night sky print. I've filled my shaker with lots of sequins in various blue shades and some glitter for good measure.
The fairy die is unbranded and the stamped sentiment is a magazine freebie.
~~~~~~~
My second shaker card is for someone who loves their cruise holidays and so I decided to create a porthole from mirri card using two circle dies of different sizes, adding the hole reinforcer cutouts from a tag die for the rivets and placing a picture behind it. The embossing on the background is a Tim Holtz folder. My champagne glasses are also shakers and are filled with glass beads. These were rather fiddly to create as I cut out the centre of the glass ( a Marianne Designs die) using a craft blade.
Challenges I'd like to enter:
Love To Craft - #38 ATG
Brown Sugar - #293 ATG
Moving Along with the Times - #106 Use Acetate
It's lovely to see you here again today, thanks for stopping by.
Christening Dress
Hi Crafters,
 I'm sure that many of you, like me, have a stash of lace and trims in your craft room and when I was asked to create a Christening card recently and the brief was 'pretty and girly' I came up with this design.
Recipe
Crafters Companion Brick Embossing Folder and Arch Window Die
Tattered Lace Picot Edge Frame die
LOTV Sentiment Stamp
Pearls and lace from my stash
I set about making the dress by drawing half the shape on a folded piece of paper and cutting it out. When unfolded it makes the full dress shape, an easy way to ensure it is symmetrical. I used this template to cut out the dress in pearl card and embossed this to create the swirly pattern.
Then I added the layers of lace for the frills of the dress and trimmed the neck and sleeves with pearls.
The card turned out quite chunky so I had to make a box for it too.
Challenges I'd like to enter:
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Embossing Wet/Dry
Creative Inspirations - Lace & Pearls
I said I'd share some of my holiday photo's with you so here are a few of Portmeirion which we visited, with it's brightly painted buildings.
We walked across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct alongside the canal boats. It crosses the Dee Valley and is 38m high. I really don't like heights but held on to the rail tightly. :o/
This is the view looking back over the side after we'd walked across...
The holiday cottage where we stayed
...and after climbing the hill behind it this was our reward.
 See you soon,
Hi Crafters,
I'm back today with another shaker card.
I chose the theme this week of
USE 3 OF SOMETHING
I've used 'Birthday Ewe Trio' from Bugaboo Stamps and coloured them with my Promarkers.
a Sue Wilson Stitched frame die and lots of sequins in the shaker.
Christmas Card Club Challenge #19 Anything Goes
Hi Crafters,
Thank you for all your lovely comments on my cards last week.
I hope that I managed to visit you all but I was away on holiday with all my posts scheduled ahead of time and although the internet was pretty good I didn't have a lot of time for commenting. Our days were full of sightseeing and walking and the evenings were spent recovering from the busy days, lol.
I will share some photos in a day or two when I get them uploaded.
Anyway, on to the business of the day which is to share my Christmas Card Club creation for this challenge of Anything Goes.
I have created a card and two sets of tags.
Using a lovely Crafts Creations decoupage image and a Tattered Lace Frame Die
 The tags were cut from music paper, then a Quickutz bell die and Marianne Designs frond die were layered up and finished with a Clearly Besotted Banner Stamp and die combo which I heat embossed.
These last tags were rather simple, letting the fabulous glitter paper do all the talking.
Challenges I'd like to enter:
Sparkles Christmas Challenge - #104 Winter Wishes
ABC Christmas - S is for Sparkle
Crafty Calendar - Add Lots of Layers
Christmas with the Cuties - #30 Let's Build a Snowman
The other members of our club have posted their creations today too please take a look at them, links to their blogs are HERE.
Have a lovely Sunday.
Stars and Sequins
Hi Crafters,
I couldn't resist another shaker card, this time for a 5 year old.
A glitter background and lots of stars seemed perfect for this fun boys card. My '5' was cut using a large Tonic Studio die and using the waste for the shaker frame.
I hope you've had a great week, I'm looking forward to the weekend.
Congratulations!
Hi Crafters,
For my personalised card below I used a couple of digital sentiments from TLC Creations and printed them on to my backing papers. I really like circular sentiments they add a certain something extra to any design I think. The perfume bottle dies are a Lea'bilities set and the large number dies are Memory Box.
Oh to be Eighteen again :)
That was a few years ago, lol.
See you soon and thanks for popping by,
20 Happy Years
Hi Crafters,
A super quick post today, but I hope you all have a fab Wednesday.
Here's my card...
A Creative Expressions die for the frame and computer generated sentiment. My glittery backing paper is a piece I discovered while having a sort through some older stash. It is actually more like material than paper and came from The Glitter Girls - remember them? :)
Take care,
In My Garden ATC's
Hi Crafters,
I have been joining in with an ATC swap at Charmed Cards and Crafts and their latest theme was 'In My Garden'.
This gave me the opportunity to use a set of dies I've been itching to find a project for - Sizzix Funky Foilage.
The deadline has passed for sending them in so I'm safe to share these now.
A close-up of one ATC
I used Distress Oxide inks for the background using the 'smooshing' (technical term, lol)
technique and added crackle paste through a TH flourish stencil. The bee stamp is the smallest one in the new IndigoBlu stamp set that I used the other day on my shaker card. I die cut all the elements of the toadstools and inked them using Distress Inks, then layers them up and arranged them on my moss which comes from Anna Marie Designs. The sentiment stamp is from an Inkylicious set - Dancing in the Rain - which I stamped onto the edge of some card and punched it out using a circle punch.
I can't wait to receive my swaps for this month.
Getting Inky Again
Hi Crafters,
My cards today are using various makes of butterfly/ fairy/ mythical stamps and Distress Inks.
They have all been sprayed with Pearl Diamond Spray & Sparkle so they're really shimmery in real life.
I really enjoy my time spent getting inky and messy whilst creating these fabulous backgrounds to use in my cards. I have some more backgrounds saved up for another day, so watch this space :)
Picture Postcards Collection
Hi Crafters,
I've been playing with my Tattered Lace Dies and matching Picture Postcards Charisma images again.
Here are two cards in different colour tones for my box.
Lots of layers in these images and quite fiddly to stick the foam pads to but worth it for the end result I think.
See you soon,
