Kinetic Christmas Card

 Hi Crafters,

I thought I would share a special card that I made using a 'new to me' internal moving mechanism that I saw on Pinterest and You Tube. I like making kinetic cards and although this mechanism is quite simple it is very effective when you open the card.

This is the front...

Inside...

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
See you in 2026!

Passion For Markers Challenge #802 - Spots and or Stripes

 Hi Crafters,

I'm back again this week for another new challenge at Passion For Markers.

This week we would like to see your coloured images and projects with the theme of

SPOTS AND OR STRIPES

I have made a shaker card ( I really do love making them) using this sweet melting snowman image from our sponsor this week - Polkadoodles

they are offering 3 digi images to the lucky winner.

I coloured him using Copic markers and was going to add some glitter but then I decided to make a shaker card so I added the teeny-tiny snowflakes inside the window instead. Both pieces of spotted and striped patterned papers were off-cuts from my scrap mountain! Does anyone else have one of these? Ha, ha.
The silver border and shaker frame were cut using my Tonic Scalloped Square and Circle dies, the glittery, foam snowflakes are from The Range and probably the ribbon too but I have had it for so long that I cannot remember where I purchased it.
I am determined to use up my craft room stash that has been hoarded, no collected :o) over the years plus this is my 2nd Christmas card made this year ( I am so far behind!).
Anyway, back to the challenge...why not pop over to the challenge blog HERE and take a look at the other Design Team makes to get you started and then come and join us for a fun challenge, who knows the winner could be you!

See you soon,

Lorraine

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge #125 - Anything Goes

 Hi Crafters,

It's July 1st and that date means a new challenge is starting at Crafts Galore Encore. You have a whole month to create up to three different projects with an Anything Goes theme, so nice and easy.

Here is my card....

This is my first Christmas make of 2024! I am so behind, I usually start making my Christmas cards in January but this year seems to have been very challenging for me. I will have to get cracking on the rest of my festive cards soon otherwise I will never be ready for the Big Day.
I have layered two papers from a collection of Christmas 12 x 12 papers, not sure what make they are as they were purchased in a mixed bundle a long time ago. I cut an aperture in the top paper being careful to cut around the sweet swirls to create a 'window' for my Gingerbread Couple. This sweet digital image is called Decorations - Gingerbread Holly and I have coloured it with Copics. I added some glittery enamel dots to the centre of each sweet swirl and added the sentiment which is a Creative Expressions Die.

Our sponsor this month is Polkadoodles who are offering the lucky winner a prize of 3 digital stamps.

The Design Team have been busy creating their inspirational projects for you, check out their makes here.

I hope you will come and join in the fun this month.

See you soon,

Lorraine

Shaker mix
Sentiment Die - Creative Expressions.

As you will have guessed our sponsor this week is

Allsorts Challenge #705 - It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

 Hi Crafters,

Well we are in to December already and as the title suggests...

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

...so that is our theme this week at Allsorts and I have created an easel, shaker card.

These are my favourite style of card to make, I love a kinetic card and the added bonus of a different fold also appeals.

The design is a download from CraftsUprint but I have cut out the centre part of the frame and created a shaker. There were lots of tiny elements to this design which took a lot of fussy cutting but I think the end result was worth it.

We have 2 prizes this week of Card-io stamp sets for 2 lucky winners.

To be in with a chance at the prizes just follow the theme, link up to our blog with your new project. There is a full explanation of the rules on the challenge blog HERE.

I am at a craft fair today and have two more Christmas fairs in a couple of weeks time, then I can relax and start my Christmas preparations at home. Christmas card sales have been very good which is a surprise as I thought the increase in postage coupled with the strikes this year would put folks off. Needless to say I haven't finished my own Christmas cards yet to send out so there'll be no slacking in my craft room just yet.

See you soon,

Lorraine

 Hi Crafters,

I have just put my last Christmas card in the post box today, phew!

Although I make Christmas cards all-year-round these go on to my stall at markets so everything else is made after that but it is done now and I can relax somewhat.

It has been an intense card making session over several days to get finished but all my Design Team friends should have received or will receive their cards in the next day or so.

Thank you to everyone who has sent me a card also, I know what goes into making them and really appreciate the time taken. I keep all the handmade cards that I receive in a memory album to display them.

This card was for a swap partner from the Gecko Galz and as she has received it today I am safe to share.

Allsorts Challenge #650 - Christmas

 Hi Crafters,

Christmas is only 6 more Saturdays away!

That's a bit of a shock to the system, I knew it was getting close but counting it up on the calendar gave me a bit of a turn - I'm not ready!

I have started to buy some presents and thankfully I don't have too many to get so that can easily be achieved but although I make Christmas cards all year round I always find that I am still short of some and then there's a scrabble to get enough made to cover everyone. Perhaps I should have made a card instead of these Christmas ATC's but I wanted to enter a swap with them and these are also my design team inspiration for the new challenge at ALLSORTS this week for their Christmas theme.

I used a Tim Holtz stencil for the background and dies for the reindeer and fir tree. I heat embossed some Shabby white embossing powder on to the background to resemble snow. The sentiment has also been heat embossed in gold and the mini gold glitter pegs have been in my stash for years. I thought each reindeer deserved a jingle bell so added that with a piece of shimmery twine.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - #617 Christmas
Aud Sentiments - #287 ATG Christmas + Sentiment
Pearly Sparkles Challenge - #68 Merry Christmas

We have two great prizes for the lucky winners this week...

Christmas Ribbons and Embellies

and

3 images of the winners choice from...

Please take a look at the rest of the Design Team makes here for more inspiration.

I hope to see you again soon, thank you for popping by,

I have tried a CAS design this time.

Here it is again but tilted towards the light to hopefully show up all of the gold heat embossed details.

Everything has been heat embossed, the lovely poinsettia outline stamp, then I stamped again and used the dies to cut out the poinsettia layers. These have been coloured using Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens.
