Christmas Card Club Challenge #25 - 'All I Want for Christmas'

Hi Everyone, hope you are well and have managed to make a start, if not finished your Christmas shopping and card making. I have a little more to do but feel quite good about how organised I am with my Christmas cards this year and it is all down to belonging to this great Christmas Card Club and the incentive it gives me to make Christmas cards all year through. So thank you very much Margaret for running this lovely group and all the other friendly members who I have come to know very well over this last year, I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Now back to business... this time was Asha's turn to choose a theme and she gave us 'All I Want for Christmas'. Now having gotten to know the group well I am sure they won't be offended by my card this time, it is a little tongue in cheek, but I thought it was very funny, albeit a bit saucy, here goes...

Recipe
Pre-coloured Image - Unknown, sorry
Paper - DCWV
Stampin' Up Pleated Ribbon
Papermania Poinsettias
Mei-Flower Pearls
SB Ribbon Banner Die
Stickles
I have had this image stored on my computer for ages just waiting for the right moment and I think, this is it. It was such a long time ago that I acquired this image, before I started to keep a record of where things came from, that I have no idea so I can't give credit, sorry. It is also decoupaged, perhaps this next picture showing it at a slight angle makes it more apparent.  The sentiment inside the card carries on from the front with '...is YOU!'

Challenges
Scribble & Scrap - #32 Anything Goes
TTCRD - Anything Goes
A Creative Romance - Something Old (Digital Image)
Crafty Catz - #257 Anything Goes

A list of all the members in our little group is in the CCC tab at the top of my blog, please go and take a look at their lovely creations. We have one more challenge on the 14th December before we break for Christmas and then we will be back in the New Year with some more great challenge themes. Why don't you play along with us and by Christmas 2015 you too will have all if not most of your cards already made!
See you soon,

Sugar Nellie GDT

Hi Crafters,
I was so excited to be asked to do a Guest Design Spot for Sugar Nellie after entering their Competition in August. Each of the entrants will get to do a Guest spot and today is my turn.
I have made two projects using Sugar Nellie images for you today, here is 'Geisha', she is new and will be in the Funky Kits shop soon.
 Recipe
7" x 7" card blank
Geisha image provided by Sugar Nellie
Promarkers
Digital paper
Papermania Oriental Stamps
Beads and findings from stash

I matted the image on several layers of coloured card to match the matting on the background and tie it all together. The Oriental symbols are from a Papermania stamp set that I have stamped and embossed with black embossing powder and made a type of scroll by rolling up the two ends and placing a hanging bead arrangement from it to match the decoration in the Geisha’s hair.

I'd like to enter this in to these challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Sooo Girlie
Creative Fingers - #57 Anything Goes

My second project to share today is using 'Love Letters' and it's an altered box.
Isn't she gorgeous? She is from the Simply Sassy range.

Recipe
Kraft box
Image - Love Letters
Promarkers
My Minds Eye papers - Adventure
SB Floral Ovals
La, La Land Crafts - Filigree corner die
Sue Wilson - Faux Quilled Leaf die
WOC and Prima flowers
Recollections kraft foam letters
Wooden 'Memories' Buckle
Gemstone brad
White Satin Ribbon

The image gave me the idea to make a keepsake box, for precious memories and letters.
The papers have been inked around the edges and layered up to make panels for the box sides and top. I mounted the image on to the floral ovals die cut, love this die cut it's so useful and pretty. Added the filigree corners and ribbon with the gemstone brad to cover the knot and arranged the flowers. Lastly I added the kraft letters to the side. This image was so much fun to colour and quick too.
Challenges:
Not Just Cards - #6 Anything Goes

I'd like to say a big thank you to Karen and the Design Team for inviting me to play today.
Thank you all for joining me.

Lorraine

Craft Room Pictures

Hi Crafters,
As I mentioned recently my hubby has been fitting out the small bedroom as my craft room and I am so pleased with the results. I had an insulated room in the back of our garage for the last four years and although this was quite adequate at the time, I had outgrown it. It is surprising how much we crafters can accumulate over a few years :/
It has taken me two solid days to carry everything in to my new room and arrange it where it will hopefully be accessible and to hand. It was great to start with a blank room and decide what storage was best for me and not have a hotch-potch of different storage gathered over the years as I had in my old room. I am a really lucky lady and I do appreciate it so much. I have a lot more work space than before and I can spread my things out when creating which will be great. I still have the odd couple of items to get, like a new door handle and some curtain tie backs but these are minor items. A few people have asked to see it when it was finished, so here are a few pics:

Looking in from the hall

Paper/card storage and die cutting workspace

Punches and Inks

Where I will sit and do all my card making. I closed the blind as there was a glare on the camera towards the window plus it only looks onto a wooden fence across the driveway, lol. I put Lizzie's (one of our two cats) bed under my desk in the vain attempt to stop her from pestering me on the desk top but it hasn't worked as yet :/

A separate computer space. Hopefully this will help me to keep focused on one thing at a time. I had the tendency in my old room to get distracted from what I was making by looking at the computer all the time, now I will have to move my chair over to see the screen, I'll let you know how that goes, :)

Finally a space for my Silhouette Cameo so it has room both back and front for the cutting mat to move freely. Also on the shelf I have a small display area for some of my favourite makes and some crafty gifts from friends.

My Ikea units, something I've wanted for a long time. The storage boxes on top are full of my cards for my craft stall.    ...and if you are still with me this far, my last picture is of the back of the door where most of my ribbon reels are now housed.

.. and that's it!
Hope you liked my little craft room tour -  crafty posts will be resumed shortly -  starting tomorrow with my Guest Design spot for Sugar Nellie.
See you there,

Lorraine
