Fun with Lego !

Hi Everyone,
Happy weekend to you all whatever you are up to.
I had a couple of commissioned cards to make for a little boy who loves his Lego so I set about making my own set of Lego bricks...

Somehow the camera has distorted the top of this card but I can assure you the bricks are straight IRL
Aren't these fun!
I cut the blocks from bright cardstock and set about punching out the circles with a small Xcut punch.
A long time later, lol, I had them all edged with matching distress marker and foam pads on the back ready to make in to the blocks. After they were fixed on to the card I highlighted the shine on the blocks with a white gel pen. It turned out quite realistic I think.
(Top Tip Tuesday Challenge Tip) :Then I had the idea of making another card which I could sell at an upcoming event without knowing the age and cut out some black numbers, mounted them on foam pads and popped them onto some leftover backing sheet of an old foam pad packet. Now this card can be suitable for either a '4', '5', '6', '7', '8' or '9' year old. The customer can easily add the correct age for the Birthday boy when the time comes.

The stamp set used on all the cards was from MFT - Die-namics By The Numbers and the number die comes with it.

See you soon,

Lorraine

  12. This is certainly a brilliant idea, and how marvelously you carried your idea through to completion. I can just imagine all the time required to make the little dots, color them & this little fella is going to just be over-the-moon that your wonderful card reflects his special interest. The bold colors really had the look of 'real' legos! TFS & Hugs.
