This is my first DT post for 613 Avenue Create and I was so very honoured and excited to be asked by Kathi to join the lovely ladies on the Design Team. Our challenge theme this time is 'Sights/Sounds/Tastes of Summer' and our fabulous sponsors are:
I went with an image from QKR Stampede and decided it would suit a stepper card.
I also tried something new for me - 3d paper piecing. I have been watching Mariska and Debby on their blogs doing this and although I new it was a tricky technique I was not prepared for the intricateness and time it took me to complete it, lol. I did enjoy doing it but, hats off to you two ladies, this technique is hard. The most tricky part I found was deciding which piece to layer on top of another and which piece needed a grey anchor part - go and check out Mariska's blog she has a photo on each project showing the little pieces before they are put together and you will see what I am talking about.
A side view to show the stepper element and a glimpse of the inside.
