Vintage Car

Hi Crafters,
Today I am sharing my Vintage Car card with you. It is for a friend's birthday today. Yes Christmas Eve, I wouldn't like to have to wait all year for my birthday and Christmas to come around would you? I have used my Spellbinders' Creative Cogs M-Bossabilities embossing folder for the background and applied gold gilding wax to highlight the embossing. The image is from an old CD-Rom I have and the sentiment comes from the 'Good Greetings' Stampin' Up stamp set that I won in a blog candy from Zoe Tant recently.

Christmas Trinket Box

Hi Crafters,
Are you all ready for the big Day?
I'm almost there, just a little bit of food shopping to do tomorrow and that's it, phew!
There's such a lot of work to do to prepare for a couple of days isn't there?
We will get to see family and friends that live away and it's a great time for catching up though.
Now for today's post I would like to share a little Christmas Trinket Box I made recently.

It started life as an ordinary brown cardboard box and I painted it cream and then added a strip of embossed speciality paper around the circumference of the base. Then added this gorgeous tassel trim at the bottom and around the lip on the lid. I used a small doily inked with Antique Linen distress ink and embossed the edges with gold embossing powder to cover the top of the lid. In the centre of this is another circle of the embossed paper also edged with gold EP. The fun part was adding the flowers, glass beads and ribbon to decorate the top. I had this on my stall on Friday and it sold within the first five minutes, I was so pleased.
Challenges

Creative Fingers - #61 ATG

Happy Retirement

Hi Crafters,
I was asked to make a retirement card for my husbands' work colleague and although he doesn't have a specific hobby right now I am sure that when he retires he will soon find some interest to fill the days ahead. So I went for a generic theme on his card and here it is...

I got out my 'All Occasions Dies' by Robert Addams and cut out the tools twice - once in silver mirri and once in a blue cardstock and layered them together to look like real tools. I found a picture of a peg board on the internet and printed this out to 'hang' my tools on. The wood paper is from My Minds Eye (forget which pad) and the sentiment was cut on my Silhouette Cameo in blue cardstock and layered on silver mirri cut to form a shadow. The pegs are tiny black gems that I found in my stash.

Creative Fingers - #60 Anything Goes
Sentimental Sundays - #237 Anything Goes

Hope you enjoy your day, whatever you get up too.

Carrying on with the Christmas Theme

Hi Crafters,
A short and sweet post today - lots to do but I thought I would share these cute little Santa gift boxes I have made to package some small gifts in for family at the Christmas table.

I've been using my Silhouette Cameo again and made eight of these for my Christmas table favours this year, - now to find suitable presents that fit inside. I read on Annette's blog that she had the same problem, maybe I should have done it the other way around, presents, then box -  ah well, they're cute anyway.
On a completely different subject, I've had to change my comments to embedded for the moment because of Blogger's silliness. Everyone has had this issue over the past few days with word verification being automatically switched on with the pop-up box comments and although you can still leave a comment without adding the numbers, a lot of people will not comment because they think they have to fill in the box. Also, although it has disappeared from some blogs that had it previously, it is still present on mine and is a bit irritating so therefore I have changed to embedded commenting for now. Hope this doesn't affect too many people as I do love reading your comments.
So glad you could join me today,
See you again soon,

Lorraine

A Day to Catch My Breath

Hi Crafters,
I've been such a bad Blogger lately, only popping on here to comment periodically. I know everyone is busy this time of year but for some reason, - maybe lack of organisation, or just trying to cram too much in to the time I have - I have been chasing around like a mad thing and not getting anywhere fast. I have been making lots of cards but some I am unable to share with you for various reasons but today I have two quick little card makes inspired by that fabulous place full of ideas - Pinterest.

I made 40 of these which were sent out to family and friends and some for my stall. They feature the Mosaic punch from Stampin' Up along with the matching stamp set and some other stamps from my collection. I also mixed and matched the colours on some alternating the red and the green baubles etc. just to keep my own sanity whilst batch making, lol.
Challenges:
Brown Sugar - #124 Red, White and Green
Sister Act - #87 Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - #60 Anything Goes
Come and Get It - Merry Christmas
Crafty Card Makers and More - #129 Christmas
TTCRD - Anything Goes

Thanks for joining me here today and I will see you tomorrow for my early Christmas Card Club post.

Just popping in to share a couple of quick cards that I have been making for my stall. I have two Craft Fairs coming up and I haven't seen daylight trying to make enough stock. Still it hasn't really been daylight these past few days, it's so dismal here at the moment. These cards should cheer you up though -

The idea for these came from Mrs B's Blog where I saw some gorgeous Thank You cards that Lorraine had made using the LOTV Art Pads, you can find her post HERE.
