James Daisy

Hi Crafters,
**Firstly I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who left such lovely Birthday wishes for me yesterday, it was wonderful to hear from you all and I appreciate it very much**

Now on to James Daisy, isn't he the most adorable little bear? I have had this stamp from Lili of the Valley for some time but was a little nervous to colour him up, I haven't had much experience colouring fur and so I kept putting him away again in my stamp box. But I had a commissioned card to make for somebody who really wanted a bear image like this on their card so, here he is.....

Recipe
James Daisy - LOTV
Promarkers
Papers - MME Collectable - Notable
Kraft cardstock
MFT Blueprints 14 dies
Memory Box - Birthday word die
Brittania Dies - Happy word
MFT - Swirl die
MFT Numbers die
EK Success Corner punch
Pearls

I decided not to try for textured fur this time but to do shading, I still love the way he turned out though. Here is a close up...

I thought the MFT flower die went so well with the daisy that James is holding so I had to add it.

Challenges
LOTV Ideas To Inspire - Anything Goes
Passion For Promarkers - Let's Get Krafty
Creative Fingers - #54 Anything Goes
Brown Sugar - #117 Anything Goes

I am gradually trying to get round to all your blogs but I have been unable to comment on some, Blogger has decided not to open up the comment box at times or it is completely blank, so although I have seen your wonderful makes I have been unable to leave a comment. I'm not the only one who is having problems from what I have read, Blogger is throwing a hissy and causing frustration to a lot of us. Hopefully it will be back to normal soon.
Bye for now,

Repeat Post

Hi Everyone,
Well that's the first time I've encountered that! Mr Linky won't let me enter a second card in to a challenge if it has the same URL as another card that's already entered. I'm sure I've managed to post two cards on my blog and enter them in to the same challenge before. Nevermind, I'm afraid you will have to endure a repeat post for my second Maisie card so I can use a new URL.
So here is 'Maisie' revisited...

So this card uses  'Maisie Two Balloons' by LOTV and My Minds Eye papers - 'The Sweetest Thing - Tangerine' and some cut apart banners from the pad with a few MME enamel dots thrown in for good measure.

Challenges
Come And Get It - Childs Card
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Sister Act - #79 Anything Goes

CHNC Patterned Paper Challenge - October challenge

I'm off now, I mean it this time, lol

Practising Colouring Balloons

Hi Everyone,
I've had this gorgeous little Lili of the Valley stamp in my stash for ages and haven't used it before - shame on me -  so I thought I had better ink it up and colour it today. The balloons were a challenge to colour because I wanted to be able to see through the front one and make it translucent. So I have been practising and made two cards to show today and another that I will share tomorrow.

This is 'Maisie Two Balloons' and isn't she a sweetie !
I coloured her and the balloons with my Promarkers but paper pieced the dress using a design paper from 'The Shabby Shack' paper pad, also from Lili of the Valley.
Both papers on this card were from the same pad. I embossed the green one with a Stampin'Up embossing folder.
The little banners are MFT dies and that's an LOTV sentiment stamp too.
Then I glittered around the image with glamour dust, something I picked up from Dawny P.
Challenges,
Sketch Saturday - #332
Come And Get It - Childs Card
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Sister Act - #79 Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - #53 Anything Goes
Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge - #51 ATG + twist Add Pink
LOTV Ideas To Inspire - Anything Goes
(embossing, sentiment, sparkle)

My second card is along the same theme but with an orange and yellow colour scheme.

So this card is similar but uses My Minds Eye papers - 'The Sweetest Thing - Tangerine' and some cut apart banners from the pad with a few MME enamel dots thrown in for good measure.

Challenges
Come And Get It - Childs Card
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Sister Act - #79 Anything Goes

So glad you could visit me this evening, please join me again tomorrow for another 'Maisie' card.

Bye for now,

Christmas Card Club Challenge #22 Christmas Reindeer

Hi Everyone,
Yay! the weekend has arrived, it's been such a busy week I'm glad that Saturday is here and I can slow down a bit. It's also time for another Christmas Card challenge too and today it is Rita's turn to choose a theme and she came up with 'Christmas Reindeers'.
I have chosen this cute stamp called 'Peeking Rudolphs' and unusually for me a CAS card.

 Recipe
A6 card blank
Peeking Rudolphs wood stamp
Promarkers
Crafts Too 'Snow' embossing folder
Crafters Companion sentiment stamp
Dotty Ribbon
I do like to give myself a challenge now and again and this CAS card was most certainly a challenge. I have always found them difficult to do, I just want to keep putting more on it, I can't seem to be comfortable leaving the open spaces alone on the card. Now I've seen many beautiful CAS cards on the internet and they look fine with very little on them but when I do it, it just doesn't look right. But that said, I am quite happy with how this has turned out now.

Halloween Treat Holders

Hi Crafters,
Well it's sunny here at the moment and I'm enjoying that for as long as it lasts, I think we are in for a wet weekend though. The sun has been streaming in through my craft room window and yet I have been making snowy, frosty Christmas cards and Halloween treat holders, lol.
I will share the Christmas cards later but for now, here is my little battalion of witches, Frankensteins, Pumkins and skull treat boxes.

These were all cut on my Cameo, which takes a lot of the fiddly part out of making them but when you make 14 and the witch one has 20 pieces alone to stick together, then it was quite a task. This was an order for a couple of friends of mine but I don't think I will be making any more, they just take too much time.
Challenges
Not Just Cards - #4 Anything Goes
TTCRD - Anything Goes

Take care everyone and I will be back soon with some DT posts for the 'CCC' and 613 Avenue Create over the weekend.

Guest DT Spot at Quirky Crafts Challenge

Hi Crafters,
A couple of weeks ago I won the challenge at Quirky Crafts and was then asked if I would like to do a guest spot on their next challenge. Well, of course I said 'Yes please'!
The challenge this time is called 'Quirky Frame It' - there are some great sponsors for the challenge so why not join in? Here is my project which I hope will give you some inspiration to enter the challenge yourself.
Isn't this a gorgeous image? It's from The East Wind Etsy shop. I coloured her using my Promarkers and she measured 8 1/2 x 12 1/2 cm. after I had printed her out.
The frame is constructed from Kraft card which I embossed with a wood-grain embossing folder and inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I cut the four sections of the frame and curved them before adhering to the backing card to make it dimensional. Here is a side view so that hopefully you can see the dimension.
I was really pleased that this turned out just as I had envisioned it in my head. This doesn't always happen, lol.
I would like to enter this in to some challenges...

I've had some DT work to do then I was kindly asked to do a guest DT spot - more about that in a day or two - also this month and next is the busiest time in my family for birthdays and anniversaries so I have been beavering away making cards for friends and family. Probably why the week has gone by so fast.

Hi Everyone,
Well I'm fed up with the rain already, it's been non stop this morning and this afternoon hasn't been much better either. Still it has given me time to colour up this little beauty - Apple Blossom - by Elisabeth Bell. I've had her for some while and thought it was about time I used her on a card.

Promarkers
MFT dies - Blueprints 14 & Flower and Leaf Trio

I used a lot of goodies that I've had for a long time and felt really good about finally putting them on to a card. It's surprising what stash you have but have forgotten about.

Let's Go Walkies!

Hi Everyone,

Well Autumn has truly arrived here today and the leaves are falling fast in my garden, it will soon be difficult to keep up with them as I am surrounded by trees.
My card today is using a digital stamp from a small company that unfortunately I found rather too late as it's just about to close it's doors :( but I grabbed as many stamps and digi's as I could yesterday because I took a liking to one of the characters - Nikki.
Here she is on my card walking her dogs....

 Recipe
Dog Walker - Nikki - Ladybug Crafts
Promarkers
Paper - Nitwits
SB Grand Labels One for the frame
X-Cut All Aboard Luggage Tag Die set for the collar
LOTV circle sentiment

I'm in the middle of making another Nikki card at the moment so I will share that soon.

613 Avenue Create Challenge #92 - Anything Goes

Hi Crafters,
**for my CCC post please scroll down to the previous post, thanks.**

Another challenge is underway over at 613 Avenue Create . Why don't you join in? It's 'Anything Goes' so it's very easy to come up with a card, scrapbook page or project to fit the theme.
The design team have been very busy using some great images from our fabulous sponsors and here is my offering....

This is a spooky milk carton gift box with this deliciously scary Vampire Witch image from Scrapper's Delight. I have coloured her with my Promarkers and glazed her eyes, lips and nails. She is cut out and popped up on foam pads to give a 3d topper for the gift box. Her background was cut using a die from the SB Radiant Rectangles set and inked with distress inks, Antique Linen and Pumice Stone, whilst still in the die to give a white edge. Then I stamped over the edges with a Chocolate Baroque cobweb stamp from the set 'Witches Brew'. The carton has also been stamped on each side with the cobweb stamp and then clear embossed but the camera is not picking that up very well.
Challenges
Diva's By Design - Spooky Creations
Crafting From The Heart - #38 Anything Goes
Not Just Cards - #3 Anything Goes
Passion For Promarkers - #267 Make It Feminine
Creative Moments - #52 Use 3 Layers
 Bearly Mine Challenge - Halloween
A Little Bit Crafty - Boo!
Charizma Cardz - Anything But A Card
Come & Get It - Halloween

Please pop over to the blog and check out the prizes you could win from our generous sponsors...

...and check out the inspirational projects from the other Design Team members.
Hope to see your entry there soon.
Well that's all from me,
Bye for now,

Spooky Creations

Hi Crafters,
As it's October 1st, my thoughts started to drift towards Halloween so I have been making some scary treat holders. These were cut on my Silhouette Cameo, layered and inked, then I added a piece of Halloween coloured twine.

The papers are from Bearly Mine Designs and were a freebie at the time I got them but there are some lovely new Halloween papers on the site now. They measure about 11 cm x 8 cm x 4 cm wide and will hold quite a few sweets.
I'm entering these in the challenge at Diva's By Design - Spooky Creations.
Bearly Mine Designs - Halloween
I also made a few Christmas items for my upcoming stall which I will share with you another time.
Bye for now,

Lorraine
