Art Impressions

Hi, today I have a card to share with you using an Art Impressions stamp which I haven't used until now, it was just perfect for this card and the recipient will appreciate the humour in it. It's a long story but suffice to say this particular lady and the swimming pool have a history :)

I used my Promarkers again and some lovely papers from My Minds Eye Blush paper pad. The bubbles are a Memory Box die and the sentiments are created on my computer. I had some issues with the vivid pink Promarker seeping over the outline so I decided to cut the image out and glue it to the mount instead, it worked out ok I think.
I'd like to enter this in to the challenge at:
Scribble & Scrap - #6 Anything Goes

Well it's getting late now, hope you've all had a great day,
See you soon,
Lorraine

Happy Birthday To A Dear Friend

Second post today, get me :)
A dear friends birthday is coming up soon and I thought I'd try a different style of card to what I am used to, I like to have a go at other styles and designs now and again, mainly because I don't think I have a definite style of my own - I think I'm still trying to find mine lol.
I really like kraft and duck-egg blue together so this is my card.

The papers are from a digital set I have that I inked with DI Brushed Corduroy and the flowers are WOC. The lovely banner die is from Joanna Sheen's Signature Die range - a purchase from the NEC recently - the sentiment is from a Verve stamp set, 'Great Friend' and I won this in a giveaway, it stamps beautifully. Oh, can you see my doily? I've had some of these for absolutely ages and finally got to use one. The little tag pulls out and reveals another sentiment, here's a pic.
Front...
 ...and back

I really enjoyed making this style of card albeit a little tricky, adding the layers without making it too cluttered, I hope it worked.
I don't know if this will pass as vintage but I am going to try entering it in to the challenge at:
A Creative Romance - Vintage Style
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Enjoy the rest of your day,
See you all soon

Hope Your Day is Dino-mite !

Hello Crafters,
Sometimes I get funny requests when people commission cards and this is one of them. 'A cute dinosaur' for a grown lady? Well here we go.......

I found this digi image amongst my files and coloured it with my Promarkers. The sentiment was computer generated and fitted in to a speech bubble in 'My Craft Studio' programme. I can't remember where the papers came from sorry, I've have such a huge stash of them - (guilty face.) I matted and layered with black cardstock to make it pop and a little faux stitching to finish.
Hope you like it.
I'm entering this in to the challenges at:
Scribble and Scrap - #5 Anything Goes.
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes.

I'm off to catch up on your blogs and could possibly have another post today if my mojo keeps up.

Die-cut Decoupage

Hi Crafters,
Hope you are enjoying your weekend, the weather has been very dull and dreary here today but I've been in my craft room with my head down, busy creating so I haven't been too bothered with the weather.
I decided to use a die-cut decoupage sheet that I've had in my stash for a while as the recipient for this commissioned card, (Sheila) loves her garden and the wildlife within it.
So this one seemed appropriate.

I used some papers from the 'First Edition' paper pad 'Bird Song' they are very pretty and complemented the colours in the decoupage. I also edged the layers with some pink 'Art Glitter. The words and letters of her name were cut out using dies that I bought on my recent trip to the NEC. Shhh don't tell hubby but I haven't found room to put away all the lovely things I got yet, they're still in the carrier bags, lol. I got rather carried away by all the lovely stalls, and armed with my birthday money I went from stall to wonderful stall collecting all the things I needed and, I'm afraid, more besides.
Here's a close up view of those lovely birds,

Mmmm, albeit a tad blurred, blast that camera :(

I'd like to enter this card in to the following challenges:

Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by,
Lorraine

Matching Gift Bag

Hello Everyone :0)

It's Hubby's Birthday tomorrow and if you remember I shared with you some cards I had made for him from family members, well I suddenly remembered that I didn't have any male wrapping paper in the house, ooops. So, I decided to make a matching gift bag for his pressie.

I found a plain brown paper bag in my craftroom ( hidden under all sorts of goodies that I had forgotten I had, I really must have a tidy and sort out, do any of you find things you've forgotten you've bought or is it just me?) I set about printing the backing paper and image again from Delicious Doodles and voila! I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
Thanks for visiting
See you soon

Mo Manning Image

Hi,
I'm really enjoying using Mo Mannings digi images lately, so I would like to do a quick share with you of my latest commissioned card.

The recipient is an animal lover so I thought this image called Coexist was just perfect. I have to say that the background paper was not as bright as the picture shows but hey, my camera and I are not the best of friends, try as I might I couldn't get it any better, sorry.

I've shown a couple of close ups here for some details...

The key started out being silver but I changed it by pressing it in to my Versamark ink pad and sprinkling with gold embossing powder, heat set and voila, one gold key :o) chuffed. This is also the first time I have used an 8 x 8 card blank- in the past I have avoided them because I felt a bit daunted by the expanse of blank card to start with but I enjoyed filling it with the layers. I will probably be entering this card in to some challenges but will post the details later as I must finish this post now, -
I'm off to the NEC in Birmingham tonight for my bi-annual pilgrimage to the Hobbycraft show and I still have to make a list of crafty stuff that I want to hunt down tomorrow.
Love this show - I'm like a kid in a sweet shop.
See you all soon,
Lorraine

Another Card For Hubby.....

....Good evening everyone,
It's been a busy week for male cards here in Raineys Craft Room, this will be the third one - all for my husband but commissioned by different members of the family. My hubby is an engineer so anything mechanical is just perfect for him so I would like to share my latest card with you.

This lovely digi image came from Delicious Doodles and I teamed it with some digi paper  and Papermania Cogs and Gears die cuts which I then heat embossed with black embossing powder. Here's a closer look...

I think they came out a treat, and quite realistic.

I've had some lovely comments recently from you all so thank you so much for making me feel welcome in Blogland, I'm still fairly new to it all, only started my blog in August, so it means a great deal to me thanks again.

See you soon,

Lorraine
