Christmas Card Club Challenge #5 - Off The Wall/Non Traditional

Hi Crafters,

It's a bright, Sunny morning here in Norfolk, a promise of what's to come.
An hour later
(well that was short lived....the promise of what was to come was...RAIN!)

Our Zoe has chosen a theme of

OFF THE WALL/NON TRADITIONAL

This made me scratch my head a little but eventually I came up with a card that was somewhat quirky for Christmas.

Although it still has a Christmas tree the colours are not usual for Christmas. I bought this Britannia Christmas Tree die a long time ago with great expectations from it but each time I use it I find I don't like the result, but maybe that's just me.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Crafty Creations - #336 ATG
Brown Sugar - #240 ATG
Crafty Friends - #52 All That Glitters
CHNC Every Saturday - #323 ATG Christmas
CHNC Extra for March - ATG Christmas

Well I hope you enjoy your Sunday and that the weather is kind where you are.

Lorraine
xXx

Hi Lorraine. I would beg to differ regarding your card, it has a Wow factor for me. The tree stands out so well and the background does it justice. Hugs Rita xxx

It's a super tree and I'm glad the challenge made you get it out and give it some use. I like the colour combo too! I will not be so crazy in my challenge choice next year, but remind me lol as it is a way off and I will have slept by then. Zx

Hi Lorraine, you may not like the die but it fits the theme so well ...really whacky....it's nice all sparkled up and really pops out of your dark backing .....heading off back to my craft room to get on with my easter stuff enjoy the rest of the weekend xxx

I was also at a bit of a loss with the challenge theme; and as I'm enjoying some of the 'humor' cards, it's reminding me of some stamps I have that would have worked (but I didn't think of them at the time!) I LOVE this tree with the 'm&m ornaments'. (also love that it will be easy to mail too!) Like the shape of this snowflake tree and the background is non-traditional as were the colors of the ornaments. I think we were channeling each other with the non-traditional colors and trees! I think this card is just adorable (as well as pretty!) TFS & Hugs

Hi Lorraine,
wonderful card, and such a great design too.
The first thing I thought when I saw it was that you had put Smaties on that tree.
Typical of me to think of chocolate. lol.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

I really like what you've done with the die, I think I would have been stumped though. The colours are lovely together.
