Christmas Card Club Challenge #17 - Santa Claus is coming to Town

Hi Crafters,

Again I'm posting my CCC card a day early as I have another DT card for tomorrow, hope that's ok ladies?

Carol is our hostess this time and she has chosen 'Santa Claus is coming to Town'.

Recipe
Topper - Hobby House - Jolly Christmas
Papers - Dovecraft - 'Back To Basics Christmas'
Kraft Card
Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Circle and Classic Scalloped Ovals
Sentiment - Tonic Studios 'Tis The Season' Die Set
Velvet Ribbon
Gathered Twigs Distress Ink
Glamour Dust

As you can see I went for an easel card, it was rather a large topper measuring 12 cm across so putting it on an easel card gave me the extra space I needed on the bottom layer for the beautiful sentiment die. I inked through the die with DI and Versamark clear ink and heat embossed it with a glitter EP.
Here's a quick view of the inside and space to write your message.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Papertake Weekly - To Die For
ABC Christmas - Q is for Quantum Leap ( D is for Die Cuts)
Creative Moments - #75 ATG - Fancy Folds
Winter Wonderland - Christmas Carols/Songs (Santa Claus is coming to Town)
Sister Act - #120 ATG
Creative Fingers - #90 ATG
Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge - #94 ATG + Add a Border
Crafty Time - #4 Movie, Book or Song ( Song- Santa Claus is coming to Town)
Little Claire's Designs - #60 Christmas in August

Thanks for popping by today, the rest of the CCC will be showcasing their cards tomorrow, you can take a peek at them by following the links in the tab above.
It's going to be a scorcher here today according to the weather man - it's already 24 degrees. We've been out this morning before it got too hot and so now I'm keeping cool in my craft room.

See you soon,

Friday Oldie - Not a Card This Time

Hi Crafters,

It's Friday again and time to share and 'old' crafty make with Erika.
Usually I share a card but today I have found, in the archives, a photo of one of several Bag Charms that I made probably about 4 years ago!

I love this black and lime green combination and the dinky little charms, especially the birdhouse one. I used to make quite a lot of these but haven't made any jewellery now for quite some time. I still have all the tools and supplies so the option is still there and it's handy for those moments when your daughter comes in with a broken chain on her bracelet and I was able to fix it.

He, he.

There has been a lot of interest in my announcement recently about an exciting offer. Out of the blue I was offered some space in a shop to display and sell my cards and small gifts which I make for my Market Stall so I will need to start creating some extra stock over the next few months to have enough for the shop and my stall. That is what I meant when I said it would keep me busy for a while. The shop is in a small village but still has plenty of customers so I am hoping that all goes well.

Blogland is buzzing at the moment and I hope I have managed to visit you all and caught up with commenting. Thanks for visiting today and if you want to join in with Erika and share an 'oldie' project then call in at her blog and say Hi.

One thing has cropped up after another but I have had an exciting offer which will be taking up quite a bit of my time for the next few months so we will see how that goes.
Take care and thank you for visiting.

Sharing An Oldie On Friday

Hi Crafters,

It's Friday again and time to 'Share an Oldie' with Erika at Snappy Crafts just for fun. You can join in with us and share one of your crafty projects that you have made in the past and leave Erika a comment to let her know that you have.

This is a wooden birdhouse that I decorated a while ago...2012 I think. The papers were from a Glitz 6 x 6 paper pad and I die-cut the roof tiles using a Spellbinders Moroccan Accents die. I used some leaf ribbon, mini roses and braid to trim the edges. The larger flowers on the front have been dipped in a watered down pva glue mixture and sprinkled with glitter - they look fabulous in real life and I used a metal flower to accent one of them. The bird is a Prickly Pear die.

A quick post from me again today I'm afraid - I'm looking forward to the weekend.
Hope you have a fabulous crafty day!

I love these art pads for their versatility and ease of making some quick and beautiful cards. I also find that just adding my favourite two embellishments of organza ribbon and gems or pearls is all that is needed to finish it off, so these are my go to embellishments every time.

Our sponsor this time is

Passion For Promarkers Challenge #309 - Fun in the Sun

Hi Crafters,

I hope you are enjoying some Summer Fun and good weather wherever you are!
This week it was my turn to choose the theme at Passion for Promarkers so it's all about having 'Fun in the Sun' and we are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs who are offering a fabulous prize of 4 digital images.

Recipe
Image - Pin-Up Photographer - Sassy Studio Designs
Medium - Pro/flexmarkers
Papers - Papercraft Inspirations Magazine Freebie
MFT Cute Cameras Die
Joy Crafts Filmstrip Die
Clear Glass Drops

I decided to make a folded card today for a change instead of the regular half fold, this is it opened out. You can see the inside with a plain circle to write your message on.

I haven't got one of those semi circle dies to cut the pop-out so I just placed a regular circle die in position on the fold and made sure that only one half was between the cutting plates and passed it through the machine - et voila! one pop-out semi circle.

I created the filmstrip by firstly cutting it out of black cardstock and then embossing a piece of acetate with the same die. I cut the edges off the acetate leaving just the rectangular apertures to adhere behind the black die-cut.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Creative Fingers - #89 ATG
Fussy & Fancy - #145 Lazy Summer Days
Crafty Girlz - #4 ATG/ Summer Holidays
The Ribbon Girl - ATG with an Image

Crafty Card Makers & More - #145 Warm Summer Colours

If you are in need of some more inspiration before you enter the challenge just pop over to the blog and check out the gorgeousness that the ladies have created for you.

Thank you all for visiting, I appreciate all the lovely comments you have left recently about my cards and hope I have visited everyone in return. Life has been rather hectic of late but is now calming down a little so I should be on top of things soon. (she says, ha ha)

Bye for now

613 Avenue Create Challenge #136 - Anything Goes/ Use Black, White and Your Favourite Colour

Hi Crafters,
**if you are looking for my CCC post then please scroll down to the previous post, thanks**

I'm here today to share my 613 Avenue Create DT creation for the challenge this week which is 'Anything Goes' / twist - 'Use Black, White and your Favourite Colour'.
I have gone with the Anything Goes version and made another tag, I'm really quite enjoying these.

Recipe
Watercolour Cardstock
Distress Inks - Cracked Pistachio, Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron - (background)
Images - Stamplorations Suitcase and Julie Nutting Stamp
Medium - Pro/flexmarkers
Doily
Circle Stencil - Stampin' Up
Music Stamp - Artemio
Embossing Paste
Sentiment - Dylusions - 'The Right Words'
Seam binding

I had so much fun making this tag, I smudged all the Distress Inks on to my craft sheet and swirled the damp watercolour card  around in it. This produced a fabulous background which I then stamped with the music stamp and using my own stencil of different sized circles I made a random pattern of white circles all over to mute the colours a little. Then I used embossing paste through the Stampin' Up stencil for the more uniform circle shapes - I also coloured the white embossing paste with a little distress ink to blend it in more. The images were coloured with my Letraset Promarkers, although I paper pieced her dress, and cut and popped up on foam squares after placing a doily underneath for contrast. I then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and cut it into lengths to apply to the tag. My seam binding was coloured with Cracked Pistachio and Pine Needles distress inks and crumpled.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Crafty Card Makers & More - #144 Anything BUT a Card
Try It on Tuesday - Use Stencils

Thanks for popping in and I will see you all for a catch up later today.
