Christmas Card Club Challenge #14

Hi Crafters,
Those weeks are flying by and already it is time to post my entry for our little Christmas Card Club. This week Maureen has chosen the lovely Christmas theme of ' Angels'.

I won some digital images from Eureka Stamps and this beautiful angel was one of them. I have coloured her with my Promarkers/ Flexmarkers and glittered up her wings, halo and trim. The background paper is from a Nitwit collection and I dry embossed the mat she is layered on and heat embossed the sentiment.  I have used my go-to Cheery Lynn Snowflake die again, scattering them around her.
I'm entering in to the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Sketch #91
 CHNC - Let's Get Sentimental #183
Completely Christmas - Anything Goes #18
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes #21
TTCRD - Anything Goes
I Love Promarkers - Embossing #225
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes #237
Sister Act - Anything Goes #63
Creative Fingers - Anything Goes #41
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes #78

I hope you enjoyed my little glimpse of Christmas today, after all it is only 178 days away !!

Graphic 45 - Couture

Hi Crafters,
I haven't had much time to blog lately but I thought I would pop in quickly tonight and share a card that I made a week or two ago. It's a different style for me but I wanted to use these beautiful Graphic 45 papers that I had won in a competition.

A friend of mine was turning fifty and I thought it needed a special sort of card. I edged everything with black soot DI and matted on black card to make it stand out. The flowers are Prima and the Guipure lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts ( I've been hoarding it) Can you see the black rosette trim, it's not very clear in the photo but it is gorgeous IRL. It was the first outing for the X Cut rosette die too and I thought it made a great addition to the design. I decided to make it into an interactive card so the two tag tops you can see peeking out can be slid out from their pockets and they each have a message to the recipient on the back.
Hope you are having a good evening and not too much rain and thunder where you are. We have had two very heavy, torrential rain falls today.
See you soon,

Lorraine

Christmas Card Club Challenge #13

Hi Crafters,
It's been a while since I last blogged I'm afraid and already two weeks has passed bringing it round to another CCC challenge. This time Carol has chosen the theme of Penguins.

This little digi stamp comes from Bugaboo Stamps and was part of a prize that I won in a challenge, isn't he/she just so cute! I have used non-traditional Christmas colours for a change and coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers to match. The doily is an X-cut die cut from white glitter card but that seems to have turned in to a grey colour on my photo - IRL it's very sparkly. The background paper is from a Nitwits collection called 'Snow folk too'.
As this is a scheduled post I will be adding the challenge entries on Sunday or Monday.
Please check out the other blogs in the CCC challenge for some great inspiration for your Christmas cards (list of blogs in the above tab).
Hope you have a great week,

Lorraine

Christmas Card Club Challenge #12 ~ Nativity

Hi Crafters,
Hope you are well and getting plenty of crafting done.
Life has been a bit hectic here for the past fortnight and so my post for the Christmas Card Club is a couple of days late. Our challenge was set by Sue J. and was a great theme - Nativity - however, having searched through my stash of stamps and digi's I could not find anything to fit the bill, I have Christmas trees, Santa's, Snowmen, Snowflakes and all manner of Christmas goodies but not ...a Nativity scene. Then after seeing some of the great inspirational cards from the other members of our group I had a light bulb moment and remembered the extensive range of cut files that they have at the Silhouette Cameo store. I tend to overlook my Cameo and it's versatility. The fact is that it sits at the back of my table and tends to be partially covered in all manner of things as I rummage through boxes and drawers looking for things that I know I have somewhere but can't quite remember exactly where. ( Am I the only one who does this?....please say I'm not). It also has to be pulled forward from the wall to allow room for the cutting mat to freely go back and forth so this means clearing a space for that too. I'm in desperate need of a re-org in my craftroom I think and it is well overdue. Over the years I have collected quite a lot of crafty goodies and my room is bursting at the seams so I think it's time so ask Hubby for some more shelves.
Sorry, waffle over and on to the card....

The scene was cut from black cardstock and 3D on top of a night sky scene made using Distress Inks. I added some tiny gems for stars. The words were also cut using my Cameo and the glitter snowflakes are a mix of Marianne Designs  and Cheery Lynn dies.

I'm entering in to the following challenges:
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Winter Wonderland - No Red or Green
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes #233
Completely Christmas - Anything Goes #14
CHNC Challenge Extra - Anything Goes Christmas

Thanks for stopping by today, as always the links to the other members blogs are in the page tab at the top of my blog, go and see what they have been up to.

See you soon,
